Re: Can someone point me to a guide for modding with DFHack

Here is the only one I know of (because I wrote it :P ):

Its for dfhack r3 though, so if you use r4, some tags in the inorganics change, the rest is the same.

One last question: what is the syntax for a true-transform syndrome?

I looked at that.  Meph already answered the question (thanks Meph), but what is missing on that is the fact that it does not work as a syndrome directly, but appears to have to be tied to an interaction.

...No? That's definitely a syndrome thing...

I just learned (when trying to use true transform in my mod) that i dislikes autosyndrome, I had to use aautosyndrome to add an interaction that then adds the truetransform syndrom.

Lucky for me I use Rubble, so a short script later the process was automatic :)

I know. It doesnt work with syndromes. When it was new, I couldnt get it to work... at some point, narhiril picked it up and used interactions, and I added the workshop+boiling rock+interaction to get it to work, and wrote that guide, because its unintuitive that it doesnt work using just syndromes.

That's because it's a bug, at least if it's still true with r4.

There is absolutely no reason for it to not work with syndromes, at this point.

I think the r4 docs say something about syndrom trigger being able to do true transforms as well, but I did not read that part closely.

It says that syndrome trigger is what operates true transform, iirc. Putnam can undoubtably correct me if I'm wrong. But. Putnam: I tried to get it to work directly from boiling rock. It didn't work, even when using the syntax given. The temporary transformation works fine, but the permanent one never happened. Then, per Meph's suggestion, I made the dwarf in question do an interaction with a transformation, and it worked.
