How about a section on questionable, or controversial medical experiments?

Like, "I'm going to hell: how and why my dwarves now kill their own babies"

And of course, the "Platinum Crutch wresters" thread that came out today?

Done. I also added the "Shift Register" thread. Over the weekend, I'll probably flesh out the "Science 101" section a bit.

Updated Science 101 with most of the classic projects. A lot of the threads are just links to the wiki pages, but the wiki articles are actually quite good, and the point of this section is to help people who probably don't yet know enough to search for "danger room" or "pump stack."

This one deserves an entry.

"Specialsurprise", The Medical Experiment - For SCIENCE!

Doctor Lokum performs systematic tests on the residents of his fortress, to experimentally bound where serious injury and fatality diverge in relation to Z level distance dropped. Hilarious medical reports.

Updated again. Does anyone know of a good thread on using minecarts to move magma? I want one for the "Science 101" section. I can create a post if there's no clear explanation elsewhere.

ive gotten in the habit of replacing my chief medical dwarf as soon as he gains any notable skill in diagnosis.
It's really funny watching them do unnecessary surgery because of a wrong diagnosis.
the conditions were bad enough to turn a dwarf who didn't care about anything mad, that's pretty hardcore.

This thread has some great research on how attributes affect dodging.

Might suggest adding ld timey clock (pre-minecarts) and the fundamental treatise on hydrodynamics (required reading for any scientist)?

Keep up god's work.

As mentioned in the previous turn, the most exciting field of battle this year will be in the Arstotzkan capitol, with plenty of close-quarter fighting and siege warfare.  Arstotzka, accordingly, spent their design phase developing a high-altitude tactical bomber.

There is currently a minor problem in that the veteran demons fighting in the corpse factory have failed to die in the 2 year battle and have become legendary unkillable gods of war. I may have misjudged this possible outcome.

Added the hydrodynamics post to Physics and the clock to Computer Science. A clock's not exactly a computer, but it's in the same general spirit.

A while back I set up a cycling magmatic siegekiller that I actually haven't duplicated since.  Too many linkages, too many ways to go wrong...but seriously effective.  I should do a full size version someday.
