I think you'll mostly be watching other PTWs for a while...

I have been kicking around an idea for something vaguely like this for a while. More like a "Collaborative Write-A-Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Book" game than this. Anyone think that sounds interesting?

Ddynamo rule #1
All things are interesting until proven otherwise.
I'd join that

PTW

WTH?

This will start this weekend. In the meantime, any feedback on the proposed thread rules or suggestions for additional rules would be appreciated.

I've decided to give 3 random ideas, and do the most popular.

1. Postapocalyptic Interdimensional Action/Adventure

2. Dystopian Pulp Sports

3. Near Future Pulp Horror

Voting will close in 12 hours or so.

I think I'll choose 1. I have no like for sports, and "near-future horror story" sounds kind of boring. The first option sounds nonetheless boring in the classical sense, but could be interesting if played in a less generic manner. Twould be easier to whip out the Crazy Mythos for that.

I will go for three. My reasons for 2 are much like Remuthra's, and interestingly my reasons for selecting 3>1 are the same as his for the opposite.

I'd rather do something different. Maybe a twist "behind the scenes" of some other genre, like the opening days of a zombie apocalypse or focusing on the aftereffects of supers.

I was a bit unhappy with the random results as well. but I'm going to cast the deciding vote (as this is a tie) with option #1. It is, however, more of a suggestion than a hard rule. If you want to add Cthulu-esqe elements or such, and it fits in the narrative, there's no reason not to. I'll get to writing.

Unless I'm reading things wring, the turn order is

Lord Shonus
Remuthra
GreatWyrmGold
WhitiusOpus (Not sure if this person is intereseted)
Ddynamo
Nirur Torir
Baffler
Fniff

We'll go for 6 cycles. If the turn list is correct, that will be 48 chapters.

I've completed Chapter 1

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A little too much "postapocalyptic" and not very much "interdimensional," although there are hints of the latter. It is, of course, only the first chapter.

What's the rules on planning the story out? Not storyboarding it, just discussing elements ahead of time.

Just realized that this might not have been clear. My turn is completed.

Also, unless there are any objections, Urist McDwarf will be added to the turn list.
