My bad. Chemistry was never my forte.
GODDAMMIT! LEARN CHEMISTRY! YOU MIGHT NEED IT SOMEDAY WHEN A CRAZED TEACHER THREATENS YOU WITH DEATH UNLESS YOU ANSWER HIS QUESTIONS! :P
Given the insanity of physicists, i think the priority given to physics is more likely to be useful in said situation :P

After ridding my body of the toxins I feel comfortable in retracting my previous statement.

How do you guys get rid of hangovers?
Apparently, the best solution to a hangover is a bacon buttie.

Mainly due to the mixture of carbohydrates and proteins. Drinking wouldn't do you any harm, either.

Water. Tons of water. Most things associated with hangovers is actually dehydration.
Quote
increased levels of acetaldehyde, hormonal alterations of the cytokine pathways and decrease of the availability of glucose. Additional associated phenomena are dehydration, metabolic acidosis, disturbed prostaglandin synthesis, increased cardiac output, vasodilation, sleep deprivation and insufficient eating.
Given that it's left as an afterthought, as opposed to 'Most is caused by dehydration', I suspect the dehydration idea may well be wrong.

Also, how DOES alcohol cause dehydration? The stuff you're drinking has water in it, you don't piss out THAT much, you don't sweat to buggery...

Alcohol gets converted to acetaldehyde at the cost of water. So, you drink a fuckton of ethanol, especially high-proof things, you need to use up two fucktons of water to metabolize that.

E: Actually no, seems I'm wrong, it's just diuresis that causes that.

Against hangover, I drink lots of tea and take naps (or just plain sleeping).

I'm mostly naturally hangover immune.

The few times I have experienced one, i find water and bacon butties solves the problem nicely. in the absence of bacon, mini cheddars are a nice substitute, tho whether that's biological or just because they taste nice is debatable.

I suspect the way bacon helps is that it's too delicious to throw up.

I don't always drink, but when I do, I drink Fireball whiskey.

Also, have never been drunk (only slightly tipsy) and have never had a hangover.

My philosophy is that its better to puke while you are still drunk than when you are hungover.  When you are drunk puking is almost pleasant.

Puking while drunk is an answer to your prayers.

Puking while hungover is penance for your sins.

And people that say they don't get hangovers....I dunno. I'm predisposed to handling alcohol poorly, but I think people that claim to never get hang overs aren't really drinking to excess.

It also has a lot to with what you drink. Anything with a lot of sugar in it (i.e., candy mixed drinks or a metric shit ton of domestic beer) will make you feel worse in the morning.

Also for some reason, wine seems to produce really nasty hangovers when you drink a lot of it.

I never have puked from being hungover, and I have done a lot of excessive drinking in my time and have had bad hangovers. Puking while drunk can be very unpleasant too, especially if it comes unexpected or if you are too drunk to move. Sometimes you can just use it to make room for more booze though.  ;)

There is really a huge difference between cheap wines and better wines in terms of hangovers, same with beer. Must be the stuff they use to cut the cheaper wines. Anything that comes in a tetrapack is likely to result in headache.
Generally I find that sticking to the same drink results in less hangovers than mixing drinks. And yeah, sweet stuff is always worse.

The only time I've puked whilst drunk was when I underestimated rum.
Of all my drunken moments, that is definitely the one I regret. >.> Don't know what the hell I had been eating that day...

Wine and beer mix terribly. Drinking both generally means hangover.

And definitively puking while drunk over while hangover.

Closest I've gotten to properly drunk is very mildly drunk.

Turns out, when at that stage, at least, I become paranoid.

...But dude, they totally were spiking your drinks!
Otherwise you wouldn't have been feeling that way, would you?!
