thank you based dice

Wouldn't the average be 38.5 though? The average for a d10 is 5.5, not 5, afaik.

Down at the bottom of the ocean. Beneath tons of brine which would crush you down. Not into broken and splintered flesh, but into thin soup. Into just more of the sea water. Where things live that aren't so different from you, but you will never live to touch them and they will never live to touch you.

Someone pointed out that "Rebuke of Flame" seems pretty weak because the burning effect hadn't been explained yet.

Burning deals 10 damage for 2d6 turns for an average of about 70 damage if allowed to continue to the end. So burning, especially across large parts of your body, can really fuck you up.

Truer words have never been spoken.

So, are we going to move out of the numberquibble phase and into a playtest any time soon? Probably a good idea to get a test rolling before pre-game fatigue starts to set in.

This looks quite interesting. PTW for now, but I think I'd like to help out when it gets to the playtesting stage

Yep, soon. I just need to stat up some spells, some parts, some status effects and powers and we're good to go.

A good example of this, with the very same GM we have now, is Piecewise's effort to balance Tinker.  Someone designs a gun and tests it; sometimes, the gun would end up being so uselessly weak--unintentionally on PW's part--that the idea (though workable) was just abandoned.  Sometimes, it would end up being so good that it basically replaced old equipment.  This resulted in power creep, which gradually made people stronger, and the game harder to make fun.

I think I'm gonna start referring to Tinker as 'piecewise's Vietnam' or something.

It would explain the flashbacks.

The parts are almost all stat'd. After that, all I have to do is set their prices, finish the status effects and double check everything and we're ready to have a little test. This test is gonna be pvp, because pvp is always gonna be more difficult and involved than pve, so if the system can whether that, it can handle fighting NPCs.

Three people on each side, red and blue. I think you should be able to roll and stat yourselves using the info on the rules right now.

So it was like a binary search, except the question is "Has the input been brutally murdered?", and it only ever returns True.

So in the game as it is now, would it be possible to have legs that are just long tapering spikes for ambulation and nothing else?

You could also stab people with them.

Yeah, though it might be a bit wasteful of leg slots. But yes, you could have just big metal spikes for legs.
