I was around for the whole thing, so I'll try to summarize.

  • We entered the Battle Tent.
  • We talked to the Battle Tent attendant. We selected three Pokemon, which were lowered to Lv. 50; the rest of our party vanished.
  • A gap opened in the counter thing, which we were presumably supposed to go through.
  • Instead, we talked to the guy a second time. We signed up again, using the only three Pokemon in the party.
  • One of our Pokemon turned into a buggy monstrosity. The sidebar claimed it to be a Golduck, but the status screen showed it to be a nameless creature with an NPC sprite.
  • We started the battle. Everything seemed fine.
  • The battle proceeded normally until we sent out the "Golduck". It turned out to be a buggy monstrosity; all four of its moves were "-". The enemy only used Recover; eventually, using "-" crashed the game.
  • The game restarted somehow. It might have been A + B + Start + Select.
  • We loaded a recent save. Not long after, we reentered the Battle Tent.
  • This time, we only talked to the guy once.
  • We lost the battle, but we also lost our Pokemon. We entered an endless cycle of blacking out after a few steps.
  • The streamer started messing around with savestates and stuff, eventually fixing the problem.

Also the battle tent is now lacking in any npcs whatsoever until the streams ROM Team can fix it
