The plumpy rebellion... Saint, you have to do that, after teasing so much. You can't just throw away Plumpy into a deep dark hole, and forget about him while continuing the main story.

Oh wait, you did that with Reg and Holt and it worked. :P

They are cheap pets, that give lots of food when butchered. This meat is plump helmet tissue, and can also be brewed into plump helmet wine, several hundred units worth of it.

They are self-growing plump helmets, which need no farm.

The problem? IndigoFenix wrote an AI for them. They might kill your dwarves in their sleep, start open war against your fort, if the PHM outnumber your dwarves, or are kept in an area full of other PHM and few dwarves. They might rot and cause miasma, they might infect your dwarves with a fungi, meaning the dwarf joins them if they rebell, and similar things. It's very neat.

I mean...I...I guess I can handle a C plot...it...it shouldn't slow down the story TOO much...

This is a valid point - you don't want to dilute/interfere too much with the main story.  However, the nice thing about a plump helmet men revolution is that the timeline and series of event is *completely* flexible.  Maybe the plum helment men are mere hours away from destroying the fort. Maybe they need 12 more years of preparation.  Who knows?!?  How do these alien minds think?  So from a story telling point of view, you can put that in your back pocket, make occasional reference to it, and unleash it when most appropriate - if at all.

It might be a bit more work though... especially if you consider that they dont talk. It would have to be all told through pictures.

If you think back to the last updates with Misty arriving, its often the same frame, and only the text or facial expressions change. Plumpy has neither. He only stares into your soul.

Nah,  no need for another plot thread.  Just ignore Plumpy until we've forgotten about him and then have them all rampage when we don't expect it.

Plumpy, remember Mistem's (relative, for a dwarf) kindness to you and reward her with a position as your Royal Cheesemaker after you lead your glorious revolution to victory, declare yourself Overtyrant of Shielddawn and rule the dwarves with an iron fist. Fungi are part of cheesemaking, and Misty will probably not be driven into melancholy by the horrible deaths of every non-mushroom she knows! Anyway, she'll do just fine if you turn her into a spore thrall.
