Again, +1. The rat has fulfilled its purpose, having provided the bacteria for the celestial cheese culture.
Not yet. We should take the rat out of the bucket and sueeze it into the pot. That's just RATional, right?

EvictedSaint, you are awesome, do what you want/need to do.  This experience has been kinda like a webcomic, and I think you said you wanted to develop your art, so do you feel you have learned what you needed from webcomickry?

I tought the rat drank all the milk

Oog, vermin!  Do vermin destroy things in buckets?  If so, that's bad, 'cause it would get lost as a whole unit at once.

If not . . .

Remove solid lemon from pot, squeeze juice into pot, add salt.

Remove adorable rat from bucket, pat on head, shoo away.

Rat has defiled the holy milk bucket of Cowsea!

Cowsea has cursed Rat to take on the form of a cow every full moon.

Now you will know why you fear the night!

Seriously, I don't have any good suggestions this time around. Welcome back EvictedSaint!!

Since this is a player fort, there's a 50/50 chance that there isn't any functioning alcohol production anyway. Most players are more willing to spend time trying to turn the entire fort into WereCow Necromancers.

This is actually a good suggestion. You see, to make cow's milk cheese we need the stomach of a cow, so we can get the cow rennet from it. The best kinds of cheese are made with rennet from the kind of animal that made the milk, because its stomach has the best enzymes to digest that kind of milk. I'm positive a rat-were-cow would have the right kind of enzymes, while being smaller than a cow and easier for a twelve year old dwarf to kill and butcher...

Barring that, Misty could use fig extract, dried caper leaf, nettle, thistle, mallow, or creeping charlie tea. Some kinds of fungus also have rennet but they tend to make more bitter tasting cheese. I've personally noticed lots of caper leaf for sale from traders in DF, as well as figs in some biomes. I'd be willing to guess there is some caper leaf here somewhere.

Pulling out only the most critical information:

[cheesy facts] .... best kinds of cheese are made with rennet .... [more cheesy facts] .... Some kinds of fungus also have rennet...

Waitwaitwait! Are you saying we need Plumpy the Plump Helmet man as the way to make the best cheese!?!?! You are! You are!

Misty needs Plumpy to help make cheese!!!!

Because @GhostDwemer said so.

As I wrote it, somehow I knew it would come to that. Plump helmet rennet probably makes excellent cheese. Do plump helmet men barf? Because Plumpy could barf in the milk and that would probably work.

Is this world based on an actual game world? If so, is there a map or save file of this world available?

No, it isn't. This was asked before.

Thanks. I had searched for "map" and "save" but couldn't find any mention.

Here's what we've seen of the world so far:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It looks like Reg and Holt went South instead of North at the junction.
