So... Any theories as to the nature of the Queen?

Night creature.

So... Any theories as to the nature of the Queen?

Night creature.
If she's kept down there, far away from everyone else, she might be a werewolf to stop spreading thr curse, but she could be a vampire and is being kept to protect the fortress, but the average player of dwarf fortress would take a subtle glee from unleashing a blood hungry noble to roam the tunnels and feed off the useless cheesemakers and diplomats that keep on showing up. It's more likely to be a vampire, but then Misty's death might not be assured, since the vampire would probably leave it for a while before murdering Misty and blaming it on the nearest cow, but as I said, the average player would just let the queen loose, albeit with a few door ps jept locked to prevent important people from being murdered, and then spin tales to the forums about how they didn't mean to do it, and that they hate the vampire for killing their best swordsman, but secretly... Laughing with phsychotic ecstacy, as they lead a 12 year old cheesmqker to their doom.
Sorry, I think I went a bit off track. Smoked cheese, anyone?

I personally think that if the overseer/manager is going out of his way to personally walk Misty all the way to the queen, he's probably going to be the one to kill her. If the queen was going to turn into a were-cow and eat her the overseer/manager probably would have just gotten someone else to do it. Speaking of which, we probably should have just said that the cheese was a private noble mandate or something, most forts don't tolerate dwarves who do other than what they're told.

Theory: The queen is a plump helmet woman.

That would actually be a pretty convenient excuse for making holy cheese without being asked to...

That sounds gay. It's not. It's fucking terrifying.

Olin isn't fucking around this time. He knows it'll take more punishment than a BDSM expo in a tornado made out of serrated blades. So he hits it until the head is mush. Then he hits the body until it's got a soupy texture too. When he's done, it doesn't look like a cat. It looks like a fucking meat puddle.

Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.

But of course, it was one of those moods where we didn't actually gain any cheesemaking skills, in case we're expected to actually hold our own as a cheesemaker now.

Maybe the next few updates will take place in blank, empty rooms.  With static, non-moving backgrounds.  That would be nice.

Well, prisons built for monsters of nightmare don't need decoration, do they?  It's not like players fill those pits with engravings or such.

So glad to see another update!  And I can understand there must have been a struggle behind that art, wow.  This has been delightful from the beginning, and your shortlist of the highest-detail panels is a convenient reminder of how amazing your images can get.

Well, that got dark.

Misty needs something to distract the overseer's attention!  Perhaps a plump helmet man uprising?
