Then why they never bring animal products for trade?

That post was amazing. *applauds*
Let's see more elf romance stuff.
+1 to this. My Vanya Carena ("A Skulker's Tale" in my sig) is an elf with a dwarf as a love interest, so it's not that far out there.
Reg: [...] conclude that Holt is a kobold.
+1 to this too.
Make the blond elf by shy and interested in Misty, and have Misty continue to be tsundre.
And +1 to this.

Because they eat them?

Just a sidenote: There is nothing in the Masterwork mod that makes people randomly invisible. Except dwarven mages... is Holt a mage? Is Reg hallucinating? Is EvictedSaint using artistic freedom? Will someone punch that tree so hard, it explodes? What will happen next?

He just started sneaking without realizing.

He can't just be sneaking because Reg is Holt's ally so Reg can see through Holt's sneak invisibility.

I think that elvish morals operate on the basic assumption that all life has an equal right to live.  They don't have a problem with anyone eating anything, plants, animals, or sapients, because most animals aren't picky about eating whatever they want, or killing in self-defense, and you have just as much a right to live and eat as they do.  It's killing trees they don't like, because you're killing a living thing that could not harm you and you can't eat it - a senseless act of murder from the elfy 'all life is equal' philosophy.

Well, only Toady knows for sure.  But my opinion is that elves have a "special" relationship with trees, kind of like the aliens in Orson Scott Card's novel "Speaker for the Dead" (for spoilers, see this wikipedia summary).  Probably not exactly that relationship, but something similar enough that they hold the trees in special regard.

This elven regard or reverence for trees does not extend to any other plant or animal species as far as I can tell.  But it seems to encompass every tree species, even the "evil" ones.

Toady's canon gives elves the ability to "grow" objects from a living tree.  Things like bracelets and musical instruments are somehow (magically?) extracted from the tree (possibly like a fruit?), and used as trade goods.  This is about all we know for sure.

Uh, are people forgetting that elves get offended if you trade them anything with the [IMPLIES_ANIMAL_KILL] tag? Leather, bone, meat etc.

Do they now? I remember selling bone crafts to elves in MW.

Oh gods.

You knew it.

Captain Holt was a kobold all along!  How else could he just disappear like that?!

You know, besides falling down that hole.

Tell him to jump out of that hole since it's totally possible right?  ;)

Serious answer: explore what else is in the hole.

Nice to see Reg and Holt rejoining the story though :3

But Cheese doesn't kill animals. So even then we'd be in the clear.

Misty X elf romance is still a go!

Take off belt, lower it down to Holt like a rope. Help him out of the hole.

Jump down hole with your sword out! He was obviously taken by underground kobold tunnelers and needs your help!
