Rumrusher looked through the raws, mostly fear the night, not the procedually generated werebeasts, which can be pretty much anything. :)

...But is only good against kobolds.

Why IS Reg so obsessed with killing kobolds? Is there more to it than simple mania? Perhaps she's using it as misdirection or to condition everyone around her to ignore kobold sightings.

I figure she's either a werkobold or a kobold sitting on another kobold's shoulders. In the former case, she's a night creature herself; in the latter, kobolds skulk and skulking's best done at night, so that's close enough. Call dibs on Holt.

Nobody's offering combat suggestions, so y'know what, here you go. Let's handle this adventure-mode style.

Reg is fully armored, largely in iron/steel. You can tell she has chainmail on beneath her blue dress. She's holding what appears to be a silver/steel short sword. She should be fine against the creature.
Reg: Put your visor down (not that that does anything, but just to be safe). If you get a good shot, stab the creature in the foot (to slow it down and therefore make its attacks less accurate), and then watch for the chance to sever its neck. Failing that, stab it in the head if you get an opening. Both are almost guaranteed one-shot kills.
Let's give Reg a title, shall we? Should make things amusing when she's lording that over Holt.

I thought we were going with the 'Reg swings sword wildly while Holt watches in awe only to jump in with a save at the last moment' thing.

I guess that works too, but the thought of Reg gaining a title greatly amuses me, and it's obtainable without her needing much skill, too. Well, provided it doesn't decide to break her legs.

The first post should have links to both fanart and canon updates.  And welcome back

That, or it has a severe wound in the head. In wich case it's weak and easy to kill.

Nobody's offering combat suggestions

I beg to differ!

hey, doesn't that mean the hatch cover is busted?  What kind of run-down cast-off night creature lair IS this??  Holt: find carving fork or other small tool, pitch straight through night creature skull, grumble about it.

Not that I disagree with your suggestions.  Everything you said for Reg could happen at the same time.  Simultaneous combat resolution and all that.

True enough. But Holt needs to have terribly high throwing skill for that to be effective, and even then it's a carpshoot - it's impossible to aim at a bodypart while throwing.
