Although it'd amuse me to see Misty's reaction to the donkey munching the plump helmet man:
Quote
"Once a beautiful plump helmet, and now? It is a paltry snack, fit only for your kind."
I'd rather not see her die this early by angering an armed band of elves.

Might be a bit of a sensitive matter but..
Ask him about trees, why they condone woodwork and such.
You have only heard stories about elves going to war because wooden bins, but never understood why and things from an Elven perspective.

+1
+2, but don't let the nun see you. Perhaps Misty can become a cultural ambassador between the dwarves and the elves before a dwarf burns her cheese press for charcoal, after which she takes up the name Rodem Izegroder and becomes queen of the elves in order to learn the secrets of plants & cheese.

Elves care about tress, not animals. They really don't give a shit to anything that walks.

A dwarf having a good time playing games with an elf? Something's rotten in the state of Denmark

Elf:  Make a cheesy pickup-line referencing cheese to Misty.

Misty:  When elf says a pickup-line referencing cheese, silently vow your undying love in your head, then say something awkward instead.

Elf:  Laugh it off, make a small joke, and glance embarassedly towards Misty.

Donky: Panic.

We've been warming up to this elf far too well.
I think it's about time for Misty to have a serious, heartbreaking dose of reality.

This is a Masterwork story, so between all the mithril stuff and plants and booze and animals with cool fighting abilities or simply much needed meat (harder farming: ON, I guess) the elf caravan is a lot more welcome than most would think. Still, that doesn't make robbery or murder by fortress any less probable.

Cacame Lizardhairy, Dwarven Fish Cleaner of the Elves, who once tamed a hammer by having a dragon blow fire onto it and once had a badly crafted short figurine of his left ear made of hamster bone by a novice carver to pass time.

If it is, then I hope Misty is resistant to the cold. And that she knows how to play Tetris with frozen elves.

MistyxElf interactions are the best thing ever. That idea was brilliant.

Just wondering, is shield-dawn a glacier fortress?
I suspect not, given that it's surrounded by grass. Glaciers tend to be surrounded by tundra and frozen seas.

Granite=January on the dwarven calendar.  I dunno why toady felt the need to make dates so needlessly complicated, but he did, so it is.
Eh, it's all a manner of story. After all, what good is a "January" to a dwarf? However, that cold, hard, grey month, that's totally Granite.

Just in case anyone needs it for future reference, here's the calendar.

Meta-action: Ask fellow players what possessed me to buy a Praline soda.

Misty: Go for a second apple in case of famine at Shielddawn.
Shielddawn: Be infested with troglodytes, forcing three of five food stockpiles to be totally unavailable.

+1 to the above, -1 to elf murder. What did I just say, Oh god what is wrong with me.

Also, +1 to the PHM/Donkey Rivalry. I still like that.
