I just realized I should mention that the next three updates (end of chapter 2 and start of chapter 3) are gonna happen all at once to avoid any week-long clifff-hangers.  The upside is that its gonna be like, 25 panels all at once and look really cool.  The downside is that it may take another week or so.  That sucks, but I think it'll be more satisfying to end the "going to shield dawn" arc all at once.

Edit: and to clarify, the three interlocking circles is the holy symbol of the all the dwarven gods, as it represents the three sister dwarven civs in this universe.  Misty's mountainhome has chosen this symbol for their respective civ. Make of that what you will.

The other two civs have their own 7 gods of worship (making a total of 21 dwarven gods) and their own unique civ symbols (a crown with three points and an anvil with three flames, which all has its own mythos but is not immediately relevant to the story so I wont be getting into it right now).

In fact, it's a pretty reoccurring theme in the drawing. There's one on top of the narrow spiraling staircase and an engraving of three people worshiping it. Judging by the dress, I guess the middle one is a priest?
I just realized that the three-linked-circles god symbol shows up several times in this picture, a whole chapter before we find out what it means.  Foreshadowing FTW.
Also, Reg and Holt.

But didn't we make up the whole three-linked-circles thing our selfs?

I thought so too, until I looked back and realized it shows up in Kulet's creation myth page.
I interpreted the engraving on the staircase to be two people worshiping a goddess.  Usually it shows up over the head of a deity figure.
Maybe when it appears by itself it means something like faith in general, which is why it shows up on the statues' shields.

My second turn's unnoficial goal was to turn everyone into vampires, and it backfired so bad, I ended up making the fort a more efficient, safer and friendlier place.
