Smallerdaffodil: Contract a syndrome from the divine milk, turn into a tiny werebeast, and go on an adorable little rampage of minor property damage.
Misty: Get blamed for "toppling" the workshop and thrown in dungeon.

All cheese needs to be stamped with the mark of its maker right? Maybe you can pass the time by engraving your own cheesestamp! All you'd need is some wood and something sharp.

Play the "Human Castle" game, made by Harbor21 Games, to pass the time.

It took me longer than I'm willing to admit to get this one.

Engraved is a superior rendition of an image of Arkoth, the local deity of balance and speech, and two elves. Arkoth is burning the two elves. Arkoth is laughing. The two elves are suffering. The image was commissioned by the Round Guild, a local dwarven government.

I like how Misty is bored senseless, but 95% of the readership here would be happy with comic after comic about the minutia of cheese making in Dwarf Fortress and adventures in making different types of cheese.

By Cowseas merciful teats!

Omg, I've been away for a while, and I come back to TWO updates!  Cowseas teats indeed are merciful!  *clap, clap*  Welcome back, ES!  I'm glad you're doing ok!

+1 to naming Smallerdaffodil, and praying (with claps of course) over the cheese.

edit: Actually, wait to name Smallerdaffodil until AFTER the cheese is made.  Perhaps offer the rat some of the cheese to test its quality (maybe it looks and smells too hideous too eat, but turns out to be delicious), and THEN bestow a name as a reward for its help.

I suggest using kilokittens. As cats are 10X the volume of kittens. That way, 50 cats would be .5 kilokittens.

100 cats would be 1 kilokitten.

I don't know about the rest of you but I've started making cheese in my forts. I'm not ashamed.

I usually buy cheese/sugar/other secondary food stuff from the caravan. Not particularly easier than producing my own, but it pushes their profits up a bit so they'll keep bringing potentionally useful stuff.

The best way to demonstrate it to him is take a save of 40 year old fortress with 150 dwarves in it on a good sized embark with a volcano that just breached the circus and install it on his gaming rig and watch it bring his rig to its knees.
