Low Strung. A yale cello group.

Only place I could find their songs in good quality are on Spotify. They're also on youtube but those are live recordings.

ONLY *GOOD* DUBSTEP, NOT WHAT YOU MADE IN ONE DAY BECAUSE YOU WERE BORED.

This is so subjective it doesn't even merit trying to meet. How the hell do you know what good dubstep is until you listen to it?

It's like saying "ONLY GOOD TECHNO" as if there aren't hundreds of varieties, that can't possibly be called good or bad until someone listens to it.

Setting aside all the other judgments you've made on other music.

Redundant thread.

Also this. But I guess it isn't redundant if this thread is the "ONLY MUSIC CAPTAINMCLELLAN LIKES" thread.

This is to exclude amateurs who make auditory assaults instead of music. I suppose though, that you are correct. Some people like having a jackhammer taken to their ears. And on occasion an amateur manages to throw together forty random elements and by luck or genius produce something amazing.

Also, I say that rap doesn't count as music as it is a form of poetry and I specifically state "for the purposes of this thread" because so many of you will argue this. It's not music. This is not a rap suggestion thread. Discussion over.

EDIT: I changed it to something a bit more palatable. It still won't assure that no amateur work gets suggested, but it will at least not cause the ire of people who are only on the internet to flame.

Redundant thread.
Ah! Sorry...

Also this. But I guess it isn't redundant if this thread is the "ONLY MUSIC CAPTAINMCLELLAN LIKES" thread.

Mockery noted. My retort: How do I know what I like if I haven't heard it yet? Yes? Isn't that what you said?

Also my ban on boy bans is based on an overwhelming agreement that their styles have extremely little variance and they exist only to push marketing to people who aren't in it for the music, but the appearance. Not only that, the style itself is highly derivative, very repetitive and quite against my tastes. Many others agree, some don't. If you don't, fine then: listen to it. I just won't have it suggested here.

No reason to defend my "no obscene content".

I don't approve of BOTDF, music that markets itself solely on being satanic and rebellious, sexually explicit music, or "Emo" music. The first three have good and obvious reason, the final is a matter of personal taste based more on Emo ideology and appearances than the music itself. If you feel the need to press the matter, go ahead.

In conclusion, in regards to this thread being redundant, I'm going to let it die if noone else comments because it is redundant. My bad.

Thank you for being the only one to actually suggest music thus far.

As an amateur artist who believes in the awesome power of jackhammers (read: I have never managed to sell any of my music, so by a professional's definition I'm an amateur even though I've been making music most of my life) I am suitably ire'd.

You're violating your first rule, in any case. Everything about this thread is crafted (purposefully or by accident) to drum up a giant argument with people that don't agree with you. Why make such a big deal about music that you don't like? Just ignore those suggestions, and look at the other ones. Why call a genre of music "not music" (because regardless of your opinions on the matter, a large majority of people consider rap a genre of music) if you're not looking to piss people off? This is a public forum, we have lots of different kinds of people with different kinds of tastes in music, and posting something like "NO COUNTRY I HATE YOU IN ALL CAPS" could only be taken as an inflammatory waste of time by the people you've turned away as a result.

edit: Feel the need to clarify before this escalates - I'm not trying to start an argument. This is my last and only post. But as someone turned away from this thread by virtue of his signature alone, I thought it'd be nice to provide some perspective before things explode. Here's some nice Debussy so that I didn't completely waste your time =P

I had never even heard of BOTDF. Must be rather shocking to warrant its own mention. O.o
Anyways, are we recommending music purely to OP? Or is it recommending it to readers in general (in which case the thread kinda is redundant)? Either way the "five cuss words per song" rule means I shall have to be somewhat selective. :P Does that include all cuss words, or does repetition of the same ones (I.e. a chorus) not count?

Hhhghhh.... Yeah.

Also, suggestions to everyone but I guess specifically me. I actually mean to suggest music myself to others. And I know it's redundant. I admitted that...

Does that include all cuss words, or does repetition of the same ones (I.e. a chorus) not count?

A repetition of the same ones doesn't count if the lines themselves are repeated. For example if the chorus was:

F*** YOU!
F*** YOU!
F*** YOU!

That counts as 3 instances of F***. But even though the chorus was repeated 27 times it was still only count as 3.

Devin Townsend - Solar Winds

You'll have to stick with it for a few minutes. The entire album is a bit silly.

Liquid Tension Experiment - Paradigm Shift

If you like LTE you will like Dream Theater, and vice versa, because they are virtually the same people nowadays.
