DF Poetry

Anyone else do poetry?

heres a few i just slapped together.

Rise of Battle

Heighten fear amongst instinct of brass,
Brought forth to bear a heart of glass,
A clash rises from beneath the skin,
Blood runs before tomorrows grin,
On the horizon of the morning glow,
I sing my praise to the glorious living.

Tender Sorrow

Pain of loss and grief at bay,
My nerve hath shattered like broken clay,
Let me feel again or i swear,
My body a lair raided by beast,
I surrender all hope,
And never leave or spake again.

Blessed Adventure

Shout high and loud,
Sing the song of ages,
Let the heavens hear,
We begin this rare day,
And tomorrow shall show,
We left from here to go fro.

Last of the first

If you know this land,
Then you may just see,
The case of the grand opera man,
He orchestrates to tingle the senses,
And creates awe among the masses,
He works the sway of a wand in hand,
Where he points forth at this and that,
And never tires until the end of the vat,
Like a drunken dwarf upon the ground sat.

Subtle Contrast

As the stars shine bright beneath,
The far off places to the east,
Careful not to hath travel alone,
For it is the bogeymen who hone,
Their skills and thrills on the young,
Will leap from the ground and sprung,
One step away they seem to stay,
Like never ending pain they play,
And wilt not leave until the day.

Can you please try to mix things up with the rhyming schemes? ABAB ALL DAY ERRY DAY is a bit of pet peeve of mine.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

Can you make an example or two?

I'll give it a go;

Burst of Laughter

Tomorrow will be spent together with her,
So today may be wasted away,
And never shall i falter to see my way,
For when playing dwarf fortress for sure,
I think not of me or her, but of Scamps,
Toady's lazy pet cat's purr.

There once was an old dwarf named Urist,
Whom every dwarf said was the purest.
Because he drank booze all day,
Sent no cats away,
And killed every single Elf tourist.

Hey Urist McNoble

Isn't that six syllables instead of 5?

Okay then.

Haikus!

All of the dwarf's waste
can be atomized with the
use of a drawbridge

Dwarven magma room
teaching nobles their true place
in dwarven lifestyle
