Reading a mixture of the DF TVTropes page and Bronzemurder got me laughing enough to try it out.

friend of mine is colledge was playing it. watched him for a bit and started talking about it. found boatmurdered and downloaded it.

I had heard whispering of the game before I got into in about it's difficulty or disparaging remarks/macros/images concerning it, but it wasn't until I stumbled onto a video tutorial series of the game by a guy named 51ppycup that I actually started playing it.
