Randomly started making out with a close friend of a person I no longer talk to. I ought to be feeling excited/terrified/happy/worried/whatever, because this is gonna fuck up my private life six ways from Sunday, but instead I feel awkwardly neutral about it.

So does she, though - at least she told me as much without being prompted. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

I have too many ongoing commitments to keep up with them all. Some personal projects will have to be back-benched to avoid interfering with essential things, but I feel like whichever one I do that with will never see the light of day again. They all have a lot of time in them too, and losing all that thought and effort would be a waste.

Mythbusters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman were at my university today for a symposium.

I learned that Hyneman doesn't sleep with his beret or wear it while out in the general public. The beret is specialty ordered from a military supply store. He lost his for the symposium, and was wearing a slightly different, non-military one.

I cleaned the shower today. It was dirty. It's not dirty any more.

Had to leave my glasses at the optician's because they are bent and one glass has become unstuck from its fixture. I had a spare pair at home - walking there was like being in an impressionist painting. That was mildly interesting.

I looked up pictures of medieval storage chests for use as reference later. They were all very plain, unpainted wooden boxes, sometimes with iron frames.

Noticed a praying mantis on a lawn while on my way to class. Poked at it a bit, but all I got was a small jump and a bit of head movement. I guess they're screwed if their camouflage fails.
