I'll be honest, I got bored with the fortress, but I didn't want to just leave the story with no ending. Thus, water has caused more deaths than cave-ins (no lethal ones), starvation, drought, monsters, and murder combined.

Nice storytelling and pretty fitting for this to drown.
It would probably be better to start somewhere with more than a few were- and forgotten beasts to bring some Fun for a community fort like this.
Really enjoyed your style though.
