ITERATION IV
Version 0.004
Soo... all I did was increase the map size, add scrolling to keep the dorf near the centre of the screen, add custom tiles and implemented multitouch keyboard controls with key-repeat-delay-override so he is totally skittish now.  Adding infinite map, or even procedurally generated interconnected rooms, involves a decent amount of work that is only suitable for certain types of game.  Maybe we'll go there later, but for now I want to keep developments as general as possible.  (e.g. Maybe we want hand-drawn levels, not procedural stuff.  Maybe we want medium sized interconnected maps, not inifini-maps.)  But the suggestions remain.

Whale + wall mining = massive blood fountains and having to fight off mega platelets... from HELL! (at least, assuming you breach a 'vein')

ITERATION V
Version 0.005
Added animation in classic DF style raw format (in the anims directory), so it's easy to change anims to use new art assets.  My anims suck trollnuts.  Will make it start and stop when dorf has acceleration, but for now he just moonwalks everywhere.  Added a "mining buffer" around the map.  Every move checks every map tile for collisions so it runs like a dog and I'll have to optimize that... but now dorf can burrow out of the map.

Can we do loot in as simple a manner as possible first?

Also, I support the giant whale theme as long as it's action/adventure in that theme. :P

If we're burrowing through a whale, we have to fight against plankton and fish guts.

Loot:

Melee weapons: narwhale horn, walrus tusk, shark tooth, coral staff

Ranged weapons: squid ink, handfuls of sand, pufferfish??
