Dorf-themed Fashion
« on: May 01, 2014, 11:40:23 am »

Hello, everybody!

I had a trenchcoat. I didn't like the color. So I boiled the resin out of it and dyed it green.
Okay, here we go.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And now I decided to go all the way and cover it in DF-related paraphenalia, mostly spikes and coloured ASCII characters cut from leather or cloth.

And now I am kindly asking you, ladies and gents, which ones should I include, and of what colour?

Dorfface.

I think rather than try to get the whole scope of DF you should focus on complimentary parts.

Obvious: Do you want spikes? :o  Or leather?

Spikes on epaulettes and maybe on shoulders, ASCII character cut from leather and fabric on the back and the lapels.

A white dorfface will obviously be in the most obvious spot.

And yes, I know that I cannot stick every single ASCII character on there, so I am asking the community which ones should I use, of what colour and made from what material.

Trenchcoat looks good. However, the height of dwarf fashion is wearing two socks on each foot.

Use the Dragon! The Dragon! The trenchcoat needs the green D!

Or the rough gems symbol. Blue or red, maybe?

Menacing microcline spikes. That is all.

That is one awesome looking coat.
You should include some hanging rings somewhere.

Trenchcoat is a nice thing. I wish I had one. Produced in England in 1916. But all I have is a duster coat. I haven't any proper pics of myself wearing it at the moment, unfortunately.

I'd replace the buttons with half-sphere shaped or flat brass ones and make those shine. Then, maybe some DF-related pixel-art (say, from this short scene which is played when you launch the game) all over the sleeves. And yes, spikes on the pauldrons.
