Ask to see the elf first.  Ask what the Diagnosis is.
Lets go with this.

"Is the elf even still alive at this point? Can I see it?"
"It's right this way."

"See? Its chest is still moving. That means it's alive."
"What is the diagnosis?"
"I'm not going to let you try to doctor it by yourself, so I won't tell."

"You need to use a traction bench?"
"I don't fancy having the elf get up and try something, so I'm keeping it there weither I need to use the bench or no. If I'm going to treat it, I'll gag it too, just in case."

Be extremely sceptical about doctor's words. Ask Silky what's going on.

"Silky, can you tell me what's going on?"
"It's still unconcious, so it can't hear you. Actually, I should gag it now in case it wakes up."

How do you intend to do that? She didn't respond to being talked to just there.
