I think that’s why the store got featured. It’s got a back area with about eight to twelve tables normally.
We’ve put three tables together before for that 6x12 apoc goodness and it took up maybe a third of the play area.

IIRC for a while after it had first opened you needed to pay membership in order to access it, but somewhere around 6th Ed they dropped that.

Another great game for Warboss KanKracka! 2 Baneblades, A Lord Commisar, and Yarrick. A good game!

I lost, since it was a 1v1v1 and me and the Guard player basically did the Dark Eldar players work, but hey. I consider it a win

We originally going to team up for 1 turn, as the Dark Eldar has both Heat Lances and Scourges, for his tanks and my boys respectively. Then he tried to backstab me. So KanKracka taught him a lesson.

It was great, because I charged one Baneblade, tore it to pieces with 6 Strength 16, AP -3 4 Damage attacks, was then charged by the other, which killed me, so I used 2 Command points to swing anyway, blew IT up, and Yarrick and a Commissar both rolled a 1 for the "Survived the crash" roll.

In related news, I just finished my third gaggle of 30 Boys. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW VULCAN MEGA-BOLTER!

Apply plasma blastgun instead.  Bigger pie plates are better.

Actually, what's the stat line for the vulcan mega-bolter?  Did it have a blast template or was it just a stupidly high number of high S shots?

Blast templates don’t exist anymore. 8th got rid of them

I always did like the Thudd Gun multi-template. Scatter dice or GTFO.

...vulcan mega-bolters have the same strength as a heavy bolter?  I recognize the insane rate of fire there, but the barrels are pretty clearly big enough to be shooting 2-liter bottle sized RPGs.

Ah, my bad. The Vulcan is 20 shot Strength 6, Ap-2, 2 damage Damage. Still designed for mulching like all of my greentide army

As for the Templates, 8th is a lot about slimming down the game. It’s actually by most accounts pretty good. Scatter Dice and Templates were all removed, though they’re still in some specialist games, so I bet that if they feel confident they might be reintroduced next edition. And hey, just because I’m a horse army doesn’t mean I’m biased with templates. They were like the only way for me to have a halfway decent chance of hitting something
