Keep in mind that Toady often logs into the forum to moderate. Him being online is not a guaranteed sign of release.

It's fully possible for him to release while offline, try to post the announcement on the forums then have to flail about all over the servers to get them to work because it already crashed from the traffic.

Because we're in the same time zone... But school in July is an alien concept to me.

Aren't there, like, IRC and Teamspeak servers we can hang out on to banter and yell at each other in real-time while staying up for the release that may or may not happen?
