Eh, considering Toady couldn't walk without a crash, I don't think it would have been a very enjoyable experience.

Adventure mode obviously is the first thing you play, not only because of the new features for it but also because they take quicker than fort mode games.

Plus most tools needed to play Fortress mode in a non-masochistic manner will be broken on release anyway. :p

Therapist is more essential, in my opinion. DFHack is more important for shenanigans.

With the complete re-work of dwarven personalities there is a pretty good chance it will critically break dwarf therapist since it deals with this aspect of the game.

From what I understand, both of these applications are still being worked on by kindly programers who intend to update them for the new version so they should eventually be available.  :D
