This is a sequel to the long-running Mercenaries game, previously played on the Bay12 Forum. Users will be required to install version 1.3 Build 91 of Maptool (the latest at the time of this writing).
Game information:

Sessions will be held Thursday nights at 7:00 PM (19:00) Eastern Daylight Time, and will last between three and five hours. In order to keep things going smoothly, I will be imposing a 1-minute timer for combat rounds (unless the player is taking his turn and is simply taking a bit of time to do it, the rule is mostly to keep people from planning endlessly or simply not paying attention.) If this time limit is exceeded, I will chose an action from a list of simple "default actions" provided by the player.

You can't expect me NOT to join.

Edit:  Also, darn, I was going to use ToB.  Oh well.

I did a batch PM to the three people that stuck the most last time around.

I don't suppose I could ask you to unban the tome of battles so I could go for the ruby knight vindicator I'd been planning? >_>

If not, no big deal and I'll just rework the concept a bit, but it'd be nice and make things a bit easier on my end.

Sorry, I'm afraid I hate that book's mechanics, and thus haven't bothered learning them. I was never able to keep track of Shoruke's character last time around, and would prefer not to bother.

I was always one of those who preferred it over the standard martial classes, but that's fair.  I'll see what I can make.

Edit:  One more question:  How much gold do we start with?

Is the Tome of Magic acceptable?

Is the Tome of Magic acceptable?

That would depend on what you want from it. IIRC, Truenamers don't work, and Binders and Shadowcasters don't look like they'll fit well within my cosmology, though I will read it over again to check.

Lucus, that backstory seems to suggest a much longer timeskip than 150 years, and Naren, being an elf, is still alive.

As to the former, it wasn't my intent to suggest as much.  As to the later, Naren is the great-grandfather mentioned in the backstory and I never meant to imply that he was dead.  I'll try modifying things a bit to make it clearer.

Yeah, I wanted to try out the Shadowcaster class.

On examination, that fits well enough. Be warned that the inhabitants of the world at this time are likely to be highly suspicious of magic, and are likely to consider it to be evil, especially since some of the most remembered spells of the previous war used concentrated negative energy to unmake people.

...
I will...try.

No Tome of Battle is disappointing, considering it allows melee builds to be a lot more 'on par' with more variety than simply 'spiked-chain' or 'shocktrooper'.

Is homebrew allowed if we present it to you and let you make changes to it as desired?

EDIT: Wait, did you just make the elves a Species of Hats with being pansexual?

I'm fairly sure that applies to the humans in Aprilia, too.

Aprilia's also the 'extremely immoral' nation, which allows cannibalism and murder. Which makes me wonder if LordShonus is trying to make a point about something. >.>

I'll probably be a Beguiler or somethin'.
