Around the 30-second mark, "Kids love 'em too!" scrolls across the screen.

Who was buying these?

People who grew up when model trains were the big thing, probably Baby Boomers. EDIT: A bit of research shows there was a boom in interest in model trains around 1950, so when the Boomers were born.

When those guys hit middle-age it was the cliche of the dad or uncle with his huge expensive model train set up. The "kids love 'em too" thing is a lie to get the Boomer "train spotter" types to buy this thinking it'll impress their grandkids and get them interested in trains, too (no chance).

The reason it was trains isn't because they got old, but was because model trains were the cool interactive toys of their youth. Other types of hobbies took over later. The equivalent today would be a 40-something year old getting the LEGO millennium falcon, just because they can, or having a gaming room.

Indeed.  The modern equivalent is "Retro computing enthusiast".

You know, the people that have a sizable collection of CoCos, Commodore 64s, TRS 80s, and Tandy 1000s? (The Amiga cult has their own temple in their mother's basement. It's invitation only, with an initiation ritual where you forswear using anything more powerful than an AGA display chipset.)

Apparently Mark Zuckerberg of all people did a "much-anticipated" talk on freedom of speech. As if that wasn't funny enough already, he used said speech as an opportunity to go after some other website called Tiktok.
Now, I've never used Tiktok so who knows, maybe it is even worse than Facebook, but to me this definitely sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.

Isn't TikTok that artsy video sharing thing that all the teenagers are super into?

*Checks Wikipedia* Oh I see now, they have some censorship issues.

Anyway Zuckerberg talking about freedom of anything is a joke.

Why'd the last guy get sentenced at all, though? He's the one who went and told the guy there was a hit out on him.
