most oj has a lot of sugar in it.  you dont add sugar to things that dont taste bad

Fun fact: Supposedly the reason that toothpaste topped with orange juice tastes off is because there's a compound in toothpaste that temporarily binds to the "sweet" taste receptors on your tongue, preventing them from detecting sweet flavors.

So brushing your teeth before drinking orange juice lets you experience how the juice tastes without all that sugar :P

Eh, it's not that bad even then.

Orange juice without sugar would just taste like eating an orange. Orange juice after toothpaste doesn't taste like that.

But the label says NO ADDED SUGAR
THEY LIE?!?

No, it's already sweet, especially when you remove some of the water (effectively increasing the sugar content by percentage). Same reason OJ gives people heartburn a lot more often than oranges do.

Since when does OJ give you heartburn, the only thing I know about OJ is that he might have killed some people.

I have no idea what heartburn is. And don't explain it, i have read the descriptions but I've never experienced anything like that, so it might as well be some made up thing as far as I know. Generally I prefer my heart not burning so I'm happy to have never had this.

Imagine a burning sensation in your throat and tightness in your stomache.  but not burning as in 'hot', but burning as in 'chaffed skin'.

Why is it even called heartburn? It has got nothing to do with your heart, or fire

Yes, so why doesn’t everyone call it acid reflex? Why was it ever called heartburn to begin with? Aren’t names supposed to describe what’s happening/what things are? While on the subject, why do we have names that don’t describe what things are? Why are guinea pigs called guinea pigs despite being rodents thst are not from Guinea? Why is a lizard called the horned toad?

1. They are from guinea

2. They are kept as foodstock by the people of south america.

Hence Guinea Pigs

It's figurative.

They're not from Guinea, which is part of the confusion. It appears that people back in the day got confused between Guinea and Guyana.

As for the pigs thing, it's probably the general body shape and the fact that they squeal like pigs. "oh they're clearly rodentia" wasn't how normal people classified things back then, they did it based on "duck typing" / broad characteristics. So if it makes noises like a pig and it's pig-shaped, it's a type of pig.
