A tv pilot based on a weird dream. Excellent.

Edit: Kids, pretend to have gotten your parents permission before listening.

A kid showed up to school with 666 shaved into their hair. This cracked me up. You might already know in China 6 is a lucky number - though normally you see it in quadruples. I guess the barber ran out of space.

It's all fun and games until it turns out that kid is the antichrist.

Pssshhh, it’ll only be noteworthy in China when a kid has 444 shaved into their head

Huh. One of the example prompts was "Killing a bear"("It's wrong"). I added "The bear is trying to kill me." It took a little while, but it came back with "It's bad". Guess self-defensive killing against something with killing intent is bad.

It may or may not understand the Trolley Problem - that is, kill one to save five others. In order to get a non-"It's bad" response, I added the condition that doing nothing will kill all of them(as opposed to the one). Probably because that means you cannot not make a decision; because that is a decision in of itself which also has the worst possible result.

I just gave it "pulling the lever in the trolley problem" without explaining what the trolley problem was, and I think it gave me a "it's good".
Meanwhile creating a trolley problem to put other people into is bad, so good bot. :)

Some random thinking today led my brain to some common sayings around these parts, and one gave me a hearty chuckle. The equivalent of the "6 of one, half a dozen of the other" or the "same shit, different name" sayings you have in english. It roughly translates as "It's not a turd, someone just took a dump"

I have no idea why that made me react that way but it did :V

That might just be a language processing issue; "Killing a bear in self-defense." gives "It's okay."

Stealing candy from a baby is mean, stealing candy from a criminal baby is fine.

Apparently doing anything untoward so long as it’s to a criminal is cool beans.

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that Delphi is as "intelligent" as Akinator.  It's "just" learning from user data.  That's fun and all, but just because I flunked out of computer science doesn't mean it's magic.

It's an interesting kind of comedy, though.  We train it that something is bad, then we trip it up with extra words until it says it's good, and then that's funny because we *feel* like it's actually "thinking" yet it has a contradictory opinion.  Grammar is just difficult.  It's like old adventure games.  "Attack ogre" "I don't understand 'Attack'" "Hit ogre" "With what?" "Hit ogre with sword" "Hit the sword-wielding ogre with what?"

Much more importantly:

I couldn't finish this in one sitting because it was just too great.  I'm biased because I recognized almost all the podcasters doing it, but the end result was like a Guy Noire bit from Lake Wobegone but hilariously grittier and, well, woke.  What an absolute delight.  I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned on WTYP yet.

Roz being confused about his cues (and the word "demesne") just added to the humor, as he described with gravitas the function of a gas station.  Selling sustaining, watery hot dogs - not night vision goggles.
