Like the small sign on the parking lot of a building here that is supposed to say: "Don''t speed, children in the way" but because lack of a coma it reads: "Don't race children in the way".. pftt with their puny legs you won't be going too long or fast anyway.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Street signs are very prone to misinterpretation.

"Children
Drive slowly" (adults full speed I assume)

On the back of a truck once, "this vehicle will only drive 100" (yikes).

And only tangentially related, a lawyer's office that always cracks me up because their sign advertises "debt collection and legal services", which makes me very inclined never to have them need to collect my debts.

The Norwegian warning for "Do not touch" just happens to be made up of words that could alternatively be read as "Not pipe"

It's a rather contextual language.

Experimenting with codecs for science. This is the lowest quality available, and I don't even need to show the 3.48 MB video to show what's wrong with it:

Lookin' good! /s

The SSIM (structural similarity index measure) compared to the original is 88% total. I have a feeling it's a logarithmic scale, 'cause there is no other way you can tell me this 88%-made-of-artifacts-video is 88% similar to the original. I can practically smell the compression artifacts!

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?

Last night I got a random idea in my head of people using tea bags as earrings. A quick google image search today shows I'm not alone. :P

You are gonna end up with Shrek on a floppy disk.

While I can't do that, I did manage to get Bad Apple in 22 kbps (average, 1-pass encoding) H.264 with 26 kbps AAC. It fits on a 3.5" double sided high-density floppy disk, at exactly 1,431,066 bytes (compared to the 1,433,600 bytes of a floppy). You're gonna have to flip the disk over halfway, but it's on 1 floppy disk. (Wait, crap, you don't flip over double-sided disks) Here.

Code: (Command used) [Select]
ffmpeg -i BA.mp4 -c:v libx264 -b:v 22k -preset slow -c:a aac -b:a 26k BA-h264-slow-22k-aac-26k.mkv

Anyone wanna write this to a floppy disk to confirm?

Imagine finding an old floppy disk in your dad's desk after he has passed. Curious what could be on it, you boot up an ancient computer and plug in their floppy disk reader. A video file? What could it be?

Spiffing Brit exploit videos. It's not really laughing out loud content usually, but its almost always worth a chuckle. The youtube algorithm exploit was a good one. As was Spiffcoin/the stock market one.

Tvtropey "precautions" against cannobalism strike me as silly. Don't drink blood, it is nauseating (you don't say?). Don't eat human meat, it tastes like pork, not like chicken, less tasty (IMO  :P). Don't eat human brains, if it's owner had [some deadly brain disease] you may get it too. Come on, if one eats human brains, possibility of getting a disiase that may kill him in few years is the least of his trouble.
