I can't paste it in, but this Tumblr thread is really good. It's about milk.

The person that followed up to someone putting milk on the periodic table between lutetium and hafnium by stating that milk was a lactinide is a genius.

I wonder what the average age is where people learn that all (safe) drinks are just water with stuff in it.

I'd wager it's pretty high, somewhere over thirties or so. Most people don't really pay much attention to the composition of their food/drink intake, heh. There'd be a lot of folks past retirement age that just never thought about it.

It is indeed beautiful.  I clicked through to the inspiration they linked, which was about eating pine needles, and that was great too.

Why would someone want to eat pine needles?

Eating wild plants is fun!  Depending where you grow up.  Our parents warned us about certain berries that were only good for deer, and that mushrooms were far too deadly to ever try without an expert.  Mostly my brother and I just nibbled on honeysuckle and wild onion leaves, and... a plant with very sour leaves which I can't quite remember.

Mostly out of boredom I guess.  Though maybe the practice made me feel closer to the wildlife.
Pine needles specifically I don't think I tried more than once, but sharp tastes are harsher to children.  I kinda want to give it another go sometime.

Dandelions. Don't taste very good unless very young, but you can eat the whole thing.

We've got some small pepper and lettuce like plants growing out where I live.

Do you eat the pine needles raw or do you have to do stuff to them?

You can eat fresh spring needles raw, they are slightly sour but otherwise something a kid could eat... though now that I think about it you people mostly on the other side of the atlantic probably have other pine species. The only species I can advise on is Picea abies, wait that’s a spruce nevermind me then.
