For all of the followers of the thread and those who have messaged me privately asking for updates, take a look at the first post.  I have updated it with details of how to download DF Everywhere and try it out yourself.

As always, comments are appreciated.

It's not a stupid question. It just isn't possible at the moment. The next release is focused on reducing some of the control lag. After that I will work on the website and different options for sharing games.

Thanks.

I updated the software to provide better performance and help reduce lag on that end. I also switched to a new cloud server to improve the performance of relaying commands. I hope that both of those together will provide a noticeable lag reduction.

Please download the newest software and extract it over your previous directory.

Next is to work on the website. This includes adding features like game sharing.

I'd like to announce that you can now share the controls to your games with other people.

Do do this, all you have to do is copy the "Share Code" from your profile page and send it to someone else.  The other person can then enter it on their profile page.  Once this is done, you have given the other person the ability to view and send commands to your game.

You also have the ability to mark your game as "public".  This means that anyone can view the game from the website (but not control it) without having to log in.

As always, let me know if you run into any issues.

Enjoy!

Tile size too small for any set I try. Myne, larger Myne. Anikki 16x16, larger than that.. what's going on? Used to work fine.

What do you mean by "too small"? Is it a visual thing or a warning from the software? If it is a software warning, try not starting the dfeverywhere program until you are in the actual game and not a menu.

I released a new update to the software.
DF Everywhere v0.1.4
This version has:
  • More performance increases (i.e. less lag!)
  • Better exception handling
  • A nicer console interface (press [q] to exit)
  • An FPS display to help gauge performance

Please download the latest version and check it out.  Also, upgrade if you are using an older version.

As always, comments are appreciated.

The display works in mobile browsers. That is the easy part.

The hard part of using it with mobile browsers is getting the on screen keyboard to show up. With a Bluetooth keyboard it should work just like on a computer.

I don't have all of the necessary hardware to test it out on my end, but I'd be happy to hear the experiences of other people.

Great.
Also, does it work with DF2014?

Yes, DF Everywhere works with DF2014 (v0.40) and the previous version (v0.34).

New Release: DFeverywhere v0.1.6 Download

The main feature of this release is automatic reconnection under most circumstances. This allows for longer sessions with DFeverywhere running unattended.

Maybe I am missing something or it's intended but I can't seem to view any of the public games save for the demo. It's stuck on loading, displaying this:
Quote
Infinity fps (connection)
0 frames behind (lag)
Tested with both Firefox and Chrome, in case that matters.
