Too much necro towers?
« on: July 08, 2014, 11:33:07 am »

Is it just me or does new version place way too much necro towers during world gen?
Like when one tower shows up then something happens and suddenly necro towers start appearing everywhere near first one? Had case when 6 towers suddenly poped up within 1 year frame after 1st one got placed.
Is this bug or some other fun new feature?  :o

I don't know that it's intended to be like that but I noticed that too

Too me it seems all sorts of sites spread out like spores. Watch a single elf retreat and sometimes in a few years there will be 40.
Barely any distance between two towns as well. Probably worth posting on the bug tracker if someone hasn't already.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional behavior. It seems sentient populations spread more realistically in this version aka like a plague across the land once they get going.

There just seems to be a dramatic rise in necromancers in general, I once walked into a building with about 20 dwarves + 5 necromancers in it. I've only met one necromancer that actually had a book on him though.

The reason why there are more Necro towers is because Necromancers care now more actively teaching other necromancers.

I don't mind there being more towers.

Now necromancer actually create their own necromancing nations, like in all good fantasy books!

Yeah it looks like all the various civilized entities build little or in some cases large nations now.

I would totally not mind this being implemented in final state of this version..

You know that one guy which made 4000 (?) years old world full of zombies necromancers and so on.. when you played it it kinda felt artificial.. but now you can set up world and actively see as it is being taken over by dead army... So now there is reason more to fight evil as you might be saving whole continents from years of terror.

Although I've only generated two worlds so far, I like how they've turned out. You seem to get little nations that pop up and spread through conquest much more naturally.

I wonder if the apparent changes in worldgen civ behaviors are some kind of emergent behavior arising out of the new personalities/minds and other subtle changes? Or is it something more straight forward?

I wonder if they are growing unfettered or if there is anything in world gen knocking these towers down.

Necromantic civilizations expanding during world generation is almost certainly a feature.

Every single tower having it's own entry in the neighbours list and causing said list to overflow the bottom of the window border is almost certainly a bug.

It could be worse. I had a world were every tile of every forest in the world was home to elf sites.
