Dwarf fortress in 50 words: You start with seven alcoholic, manic-depressive dwarves. You build a fortress in the wilderness where EVERYTHING tries to kill you, including your own dwarves. Usually, your chief imports are immigrants, beer, and optimism. Your chief exports are misery, limestone violins, forest fires, elf tallow soap, and carved kitten bone.

This must have been an attempt to wipe out the mighty lungfish. There have been unforeseen consequences.

Apparently my dwarves have decided that all of the thread and cloth belonging to the traders in the Trade Depot should be in my hospital. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not yet, but I'll try to re-create it.  :D

Old bug.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

I had a kobold wererhino die of old age.The wiki says they don't.
Bug or feature?

Also, goblins don't seem to die of natural causes anymore. I have 450 year old goblins in my world.
Edit: Checked the Raws, goblins simply lack the [MAXAGE:{}:{}] tag. On the wiki in previous versions, too btw.

Yeah, it's possible that goblins got less homicidal in 40.01.

Purely anecdotal at this point, but in my first few v40 worlds the goblins end up filling in the "uncivilized" parts of the world like crazy.

Enough so that there are NO possible embark points with "low evil" in the entire world... I've had to settle for medium.

So they might be a little -too- immortal at this point, or else reproducing too quickly.
I wonder what will happen if I mod them to die...
