The reign of the giant sponge is over!
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:03:14 pm »

I was thinking about how combat changed with the new update... Specifically how you can destroy a body part by simply hitting it enough, and did some testing:

As a grand master swordsman human, a giant sponge took 4 hits with a steel sword to take down, I also tested it against a bronze colossus and it killed it with a punch and a single bash with a platinum maul. Humans (and probably dwarves with them) don't seem to be able to hurt them with blunts yet though.

Oh, I also should mention that they don't seem to attack anymore, like at all. Yeah...  that's pretty important.

Basically what i'm trying to say is that 40.01 brought a much needed leveling to the combat playing field, so go kill a ogre or something, people.

It's a reverse hostage situation, if you kill the snatchers they'll fill your fort with babies.

I-I think we need to have a moment of silence for the funeral of the King of Beasts.

Now the question becomes What is the new King of Beasts?

*Brag about my past violent acts*

I killed a forgotten beasts with a copper dagger.

I don't know if I should say
"That sounds like overkill"
or
"lolwut"
So i guess its safe to say
"It was inevitable"

Now the question becomes What is the new King of Beasts?

I was gonna say dragons because of their dragon-fire, but then I realized they can easily be killed by giant sperm whales.
I was gonna say giant sperm whales because they could instantly pulp a dragon body-part with a tail-whip, but then I realized they can easily be killed by bronze colossus.
I was gonna say bronze colossus because they could glance a giant sperm whale, but then I realized they can easily be killed by dragons.

Trees. They keep making birds explode and have the ability to sometimes kill anything that manages to chop them down.

I always seem to end up with a magnificent burial complex and nowhere near enough bodies to fill it, or far too many bodies and nowhere to put any of them.
