The Prophecy (DF2012 Adventurer succession game)
« on: July 10, 2014, 02:40:39 pm »

Latest save:

Within the City of Last Defense, the Daughter of Ice shall join with the Son of Fire.  A Champion shall collect a Council of Twelve Thrones and rule them from the Thirteenth.  In Violence and with violence, shall the Seven Slabs be gathered. In the place where all places meet, the Pivot of Powers shall be revealed and there shall the Savant of Seven Slabs everliving become a God Incarnate.

As with most prophecies, it's a bit vague and the Requirements may be open to differing interpretations.  Also, unless no hero dies attempting to fulfill this prophecy, more Requirements will be revealed in time that may shed a different light on the interpretation of previous Requirements.  However, with skill and a bit of luck, all the Quests will eventually be fulfilled and the Race for Godhood can then commence.

I'll play, but I'm taking the second turn. I have no idea how to adventure mode in this version.

Alrighty then - looks like I'll be re-genning the world using 40.02 instead.  Fortunately, nothing else will need to be changed since the Prophecy will probably work just as well with the new world.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I dreamt I was someone named Obok Talkedmetals the Bladedwarf and this is my weird dream:

I began my adventures when I joined up with the local garrison at Tattooedtool.  One night (or day - difficult to tell one from the other when you're under the ground.  Let's just say, "the other day...") So at dinner time the other day I was making friends with a local hunter named Kivish.

Greetings, Kivish
Hello.  It's good to meet you.
Tell me about the local ruler
The Eternal Smith rules Tattooedtool.  The seat of Mosus Inkedtongues is also located here, but between you and me, I don't really care one way or the other just so long as I can bring my kills in to be butchered and not be hasselled too much.
Does anybody else still have a stake in these lands?
There are fewer than five other groups vying for control.
Does The Eternal Smith at least have a firm grip on these lands?
Don't worry.  They don't feel challenged at all.  We're safe here.
Does this place engage in trade?  Tell me about those.
Tattooedtool trades with Crowdedprices.  The villages of Stillgalley, Ringchants and Keypolished bring thier goods to the market here.
As a hunter, you should know about the surrounding areas.  Tell me about them.
The Shaken Hills is nearly a day's travel to the South.  Wolves have been known to hunt out there.
In the early spring of 10, a group named The Circle of Trust from The Merchants of Steel founded a settlement named 'Hillhome' in the Tooth of Deciding, a mountain range.
They say a minotaur lives somewhere in that range.
To the southwest is the Jungle of Lungs.  Opossums roam freely out there - good hunting!
A short walk further to the southwest is the Jungle of Stones.  It's there that I hunt coatis, but you have to watch out for those black bears!
A days travel to the southwest is the Savage Jungle.  Ravens are known to frequent that area.
About half a day's travel to the south is the Plain of Knives.  Legend has it that a murderous howling man wanders out there.
A short walk to the east is the Mire of Inching.  If you want to hunt ravens, that's the place to do it.
Thank you for all the information!  Perhaps we can talk later.
<grunt of laughter> Right. See you later, Obok.

I ate my meal and headed for the Kitchens to drop off my plate when I bumped into my freind Mebzuth who had joined the garrison last year.
Greetings, Mebzuth.  Long live the cause!
It's good to see you.  Long live the cause!
I'm going to step out for a little while.  Want to come along?
I will only agree to travel with you if you lead me to glory and death!
Ok... How about just glory?
Yes!  Vanquishing a great beast would bring us all much glory.  Ivoryflicker is in The Tooth of Deciding.  We must seek that place to slay Zedan Goldensilver the dragon!
So... do YOU know how to get there?
No... But Fikod Armorbrave is well-travelled and would probably have that information.
OK.  Do you know where we could find him?
He also lives in Tattooechoed, so he's bound to be somewhere around here.
Ah.  Let's see if we can find him.

The Quest for Fikod Armorbrave

...and then I woke up.  Weird huh?

40.03 is still too unstable, so let me know if this is something you'd play in 34.11 or if you're OK with me mothballing it until a more stable form of 40.xx is released.
