Lord of War (Bookkeeping thread)
« on: July 17, 2014, 10:40:31 am »

This is a bookkeeping thread for Lord of War, a Strategy/RPG game. This thread was created due to the GM (me) finding that the max amount of characters was being exceeded too many times.

Spoiler: About Armies (click to show/hide)

Lords of War can recruit more units (either a specific unit of a type they already have or giving instructions about what they want their units to be like to their generals. Time needed will depend on number and training required). However having an army too large can make the local population unhappy and the Emperor and Princes suspicious. In order for a Unit to have certain qualities, treaties or pacts with different organizations might be needed (like one with the Church/Inquisition to get units with the Witch Hunter quality). However there might be more than one way to acquire units with a certain quality.

Damaged units that have lost less than half of their men will recover with time. Units that have lost more than half of their men will merge into a new unit or be disbanded.

Secret Armies: You have, aside from armies, Secret Armies. These are secret to the other players (Thank you Captain Obvious). Unless you tell your fellow Lords of War that you are recruiting, any new units will be added to the Secret Armies (Captain Obvious to the rescue). All units with a Supernatural/Secret origin will always be under the Secret Armies spoiler (Thank you General Obvious, you've been promoted).

The Lord of War

Arbiter Dullahan, the Black Knight:
Dullahan bears the name of the Dark King Dullahan, greatest villain of the Lillium religion, an ancient cult with legends that are part of Alberia's mythology. Dullahan, however, shares only his looks with the mythic figure. Kind and protective of his men, the Black Knight can be found where the battle is bloodiest, inspiring his men. He wields in combat a sword called Excalibur, one of the 13 ancient weapons of legend of the Lim Shide, the heroes of the Lillium. He is highly respected in Alberia, as Excalibur is the twin weapon to Caliburn, the greatest of the 13 weapons of legend, traditionally wielded by the Prince of Alberia.

Spoiler: Arbiter Dullahan (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Sigma, the Alchemist:
With a nickname like his, it's not strange that Arbiter Sigman is under vigilance by the Inquisition. Even after having proved his loyalty to the Empire, Sigma is seen as a dangerous element, a bomb about to explode at any second. A master of ancient magic and science, Sigma uses puppets in combat, created through ancient rituals and deadlier than any assassin. He is considered one of the most brilliant minds in Gaia, and his writings are true masterworks of ancient knowledge.

Spoiler: Arbiter Sigma (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Illion, the Holy Shield:
Arbiter Illion is a knight on shiny armor, he is what all young knights want to become. Wielding sword, lance and shield, Illion rides to battle on his horse, crushing everyone who dares to oppose his charge. Respected through the Empire, it is not strange to see drawings of him in recruitment centres or during military parades. It is said that he is so kind and brave that even angels come to his aid, which is not as a false as some may imagine, as he is also a master summoner. He can summon Light elementals, and he has sealed pacts with ancient benign entities to grant him their strength.

Spoiler: Arbiter Illion (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Argenta, the Huntress
One of the few Arbiters in History whose gender is not unknown. Argenta's armor make her female curves quite obvious, and as opposed to the majority of Arbiter Armors, it is not a full armor plate, but a combination of chainmail, breastplate, greaves, gauntlets and boots, combined with a silver mask. Although almost as protective as any other Arbiter Armor, it lets her move more freely, which is a bless to this Arbiter, whose combat style is based on martial arts. She is also a master tracker, and she has a (supposedly friendly) rivalry with Arbiter Apolyon.

Spoiler: Arbiter Argenta (click to show/hide)

The Shadow of the Emperor

Arbiter Castor, The Hand of the Shadow:
As with many Arbiter names, Castor is a name that is passed from an Arbiter to another. Traditionally, the Arbiter under the name of Castor has been The Hand of the Shadow, his more trustworthy Arbiter. Cold and calculating, the man or woman that currently holds the title is a competent general, with a great deal of experience on his position. An expert on blitzkrieg tactics and preemtive strikes, it is said that many uprisings of Goldarian warlords were stopped before starting thanks to the pressure of his troops.
Spoiler: Arbiter Castor (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Arkain, the Glacier:
A giant of a man, Arkain stands over two and a half metres tall. This, combined with his Arbiter Armor makes him look like a monster from legend. Pragmatical and manipulative, in his first year as an Arbiter, he stopped Lannet and Shivat from rebelling against the Empire by saying that, in his opinion, Lannet's army was much better than Shivat's. Taking this as an insult, Shivat's generals asked for an Arbitrated War that would let them show how wrong the Arbiter was. Of course, this caused both armies to lose strenght, making them unable to rebel.

Spoiler: Arbiter Arkain (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Laross, the Rose:
A slender and graceful figure, this Arbiter is known for his charming persona and his savoir faire. For this Arbiter, politics are just another battleground, only with less blood and more backstabbing. And he acts the same way on both battlefields, acting fast and not allowing his enemies even a single moment of respite.

Spoiler: Arbiter Laross (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Baegor, the Scalpel:
Known by a strange title among Arbiters, the Scalpel, Arbiter Baegor is feared in the lands of the Shadow. Said to have an spy in every family, this Arbiter is probably one of the most dangerous persons to annoy in the Empire, as his agents seem to reach everywhere. Of course it is unknown wether all assasinations that he's been given credit for are actually his doing.

Spoiler: Arbiter Baegor (click to show/hide)

The Lord of the South

Arbiter Kerberos, the Demon:
Known for his cruelty towards his enemies and for his dark appearance, only the fact that he always does his job swiftly and without incidents stops the Inquisition from requesting the Emperor to deliver him to their hands. Most things said about him are mere rumours without any foundation. However, all men that have fought under his command say that fighting alongside him is a terrifying experience that they would never want to repeat.

Spoiler: Arbiter Kerberos (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Abigor, the Sage:
Mysterious and strange, Abigor is a rarity among the Arbiters, as he has no combat skill. However, he makes up for it with his incredible control over magic and his intellect. A master tactician and a scholar of the occult, his knowledge of the supernatural has make some Inquisitors suspicious of wether he isn't a demon or some other dark creature. Only his position and his friendship with Cardinal Lorenzo di Almao of Togarini seem to stop the Inquisitors from further questioning him.

Spoiler: Arbiter Abigor (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Rhapsodos, the Avenger:
Arbiter Rhapsodos is one of those men that can cause tension between the different organizations of the Empire. When this Arbiter first appeared to the world, he did so wielding one of the original Lawgivers, the one called Hymnos Sacra, a longsword with strange powers over sound. This caused great tension with the Inquisition, as the weapon had only been recently recovered after the secret war against Baal. As with all Arbiters, no one knows who Rhapsodos really is, but many people think he is a retired Inquisitor.

Spoiler: Arbiter Rhapsodos (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Apolyon, the Messenger of Death:
Apolyon is an Arbiter rarely seen in the battlefield, but always felt. He wields a strange and ancient bow with magic properties known as Srebro. Considered a relic of Sylvain origin, the weapon was a gift from the Great Marshal of Tol Rauko. With it, Apolyon can shoot arrows from a kilometer away. Combined with his Ki, this makes Apolyon a walking artillery unit. But perhaps he is best known by the reason behind his nickname, as it is said that no one that has been targeted by Apolyon has ever survived the his arrows. Apolyon is always followed by two white lions, a female and a male. Both have been trained for war, and they act as his bodyguards.

The Lord of Eurakia

Arbiter Bahamut, the Ancient:
Bahamut is a legend. A secret known only by the highest echelons of the Empire, whose existance is unknown even by his own troops. Only the Lord of Eurakia and the Emperor know who (or more precisely, what) he really is, but he has been living since before the Holy Empire of Abel was created, even long before Abel appeared in the world.

Spoiler: Arbiter Bahamut (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Vays, the Balance:
Vays is the most well known of Eurakia's Arbiters. A loved leader for his men, and a brilliant strategist, he is, for some people, the exemplar of everything an Arbiter should be. He goes to battle wielding a halberd in one hand and a tower shield in the other, showing an unmatched strenght.

Spoiler: Arbiter Vays (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Fey, the Crimson Blur:
Fey wears a red Arbiter Armor, and alongside Argenta, she is the only Arbiter whose gender is known. Her armor, although it is a full plate armor, has an obvious female shape, and Fey hasn't hid the fact that she is from the Principalty of Dafne. Her identity, however, is still hidden. Some say that she is Lady Elizabeth Ventrue, the Lady of Roses, Princess of Dafne. Some say that she is her sister Lady Margaret, and some others say that she is the heir to the throne of the Principlaty, Lady Flora. The only sure thing is that Fey is a deadly woman, a whirlwind of death that sweeps across the battlefield destroying her enemies.

Spoiler: Arbiter Fey (click to show/hide)

Arbiter Umbra, the Shadow:
A dark figure surrounded by legend, Umbra is known for his lack of remorses. If it is needed for the security of the Holy Empire, he will do anything. Umbra is a calculating Arbiter, and he is well aware that many don't share his methods, even amongst his colleagues in Eurakia, but he believes the Empire is the only standing between Gaia and the many Supernatural entities that would seek to transform it into their realm, and he is not going to let it fall.

I started sending PMs with the traits, but I've decided to post the traits here. These are not only the traits that some of your units have, but also some other traits too. This list will probably be updated several times.

I'm not really sure how many numbers each land can support, or needs, or even how well-mapped/known/whatever each land is, so this is my best guess. *Shrug*

The troop numbers listed equal one unit of the given type.

Everyone has, thusly, 200,000 troops of various types, exactly, I believe.
