Cyborg Weapon Smith (a weapon designer) 05 update.
« on: July 18, 2014, 02:24:49 am »

Today it the first day of your new job, as chief technical advisor to the government of Crohakon.

As you step inside the crumbling monument to soviet brutalism that is the Valyize technical institute, you wonder if it is time to explain how you mange to get your new job, but then you think against it.
That would need you to tell them about your past war on crime, about Susan and the voices, that your a Cyborg?, and what do you say about the snake people or of starlin's ape men?
No it'd be best not to mention any of that, and just go on with the tasks at hand.
(This game is kind of spin off from You're an Urban Vigilante Cyborg., but you don't have to had read that.)

Perhaps a new rifle, that'd be a good place to start.

I think we should focus on developing an effective bolo round for the ak-47 for decapitating zombies.

You start working on a bolo round for your ak47's, after a few failed attempts using balls stacked in front of each other, you settle on cutting the bullet in half and tethering the to parts together.

Tests on ballistic gelatin are mixed, on one hand the wire tether often cuts the target as the second half of the bullet wraps around.
A unforeseen advantage is that the bullet spreads out as the half's separate making it much easier to hit a target.

The down sides are the bullet half's are light and easily deflected by vegetation, and that tethers often snap on opening, makeing both parts of the bullet fly in a random path.

After a prank diplomatic incident involving  four inflatable sheep, handcuffs, and early room service classified and half dozen press photographers, border tensions with Kedardoviastan have risen to a new high.

Create missiles that fire normally, but when exposed to a very subtle radio signal, they instead transform into perverse raping machines berserk kamikaze robots upon activation, gift these to the Kedardoviastan as a show of faith.

-1 to the last two suggestions.

Yes. I am a spoilsport.

However, @ the missile idea, if we just made them explode at the signal, then +1.

Draft 5.000 citizens as suicide bombers an emergency reserve.
(a bit wastefull when you have loads of gun to use).
A state of emergency is called and part of the reserve is raised, increasing the army by 5000.

You quickly start work on remotely controlled land mines.

Using encoded ultra high frequency radio to transmit signals, each cluster of mines can be controlled to arm or disarm.
The only disadvantage is in the signal and cost of the radio parts
A up side is the battery is need to fire the mine, with out one the mines are much safer to handle.
with the basic design fixed all you need to do is a little fine tuning.

(Ok now you can pick advantages or disadvantage, the total count must be 0 or less and you can't have conflicting choices)
Spoiler: Fine tuneing (click to show/hide)

At 3 AM you are loudly awoken by the continuous ringing ringing of every phone in building.
Rising from your girlfriends arms you reluctantly first answer your mobile.
"-This is not a drill, i repeat this is not a drill war has been declared by Kedardoviastan, reserve categories delta, zulu, and Juliett are to report immediately for duty. This is not a drill-".

So war it is then.

I dont think it is possible to increase dmage with distance, the power of the bullet will be lose the further it fly unless it is a accelerating rocket. Also to get a cutting effect at 500 meter the bullet would need to be very big and very, very fast and extremely aerodynamic. It doesnt really seem possible

At short distances it acts like a standard bullet, and it doesn't need much power anyway, it is susceptible to armor, and the net would be made from tiny steel wires, so if it breaks it just adds insult to injury, as it would add shrapnel.
