Ok, I know this is a newb question, and I've been playing a while, but seriously,

How do I build a magma forge? I can't find it int he B menu.

If you don't have the magma forge listed under the workshops section of the build menu, it implies you have not found magma yet. At least it is not listed in my view, and I have not found any magma yet. If you are sure you have discovered magma, maybe you should have a suitable spot to build it in or something. Your situation sounds pretty strange.


Should the magma forge be available for building, it would be behind the shortcut b-w-v as stated on the magma forge page in the wiki.

EDIT: Went on to discover a magma sea and unlocked the magma forge in the menu. Did you get a notification that you have found magma?

That is a magma smelter.  For a magma forge you want b-w-v
