There mammoth! There castle!

In all seriousness, I believe the only particularly dwarfy use for a werecreature which isn't a civ member is to pit it onto a pressure plate and use it to operate machinery once a month. A decontamination procedure for the well, maybe.

I want to try and test the benefits of running a all were-creature military, where the military is separated from the rest of the fort, but forces any visitors to path through the segregated mini-fort,
so you either get a regular dwarven welcoming party, or a sneaky-were-mammoth-silent-rave-with-hammers party.
Any wounds inflicted before the 'rave', are restored so that the 'rave' will go on forever, to the thumping sounds of Dwarven industrial techno.

I can't stop picturing my dwarfs as doing their everyday chores, all the while confidently dancing to hardcore techno club music, with unnecessary glow stick and fashion accessories.
I mean they already have alcohol, dark cramped spaces, questionable hygeine, interesting facial hair, they eat magical bright purple mushrooms, and only move in 'step' increments as if timing their actions to a silent beat....

There could be more, right now, anywhere and everywhere, stomping silently about and swinging enormous mammoth-sized warhammers with deadly quiet.

Thank you for this line.   :D

This is why you don't text and walk, kids. You fail your rolls for noticing weremammoths right in front of you.

I'm not sure what I find more fascinating: that the weremammoth tried to bite a baby in half, or that it failed.

Now you know why Snuffleuffagus is skulking around in that back alley...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Has anyone TRULY figured out WHERE he lives on sesame street?

Maybe he reverts into a homeless guy, and nobody is the wiser!  (this IS new york we are talking about!)
His appearances on the show are few and far between as well-- Almost like it was on every full moon....

Hey! Leave Snuffleuffagus out of this! He is Big Bird's only imaginary friend, heathen. It's cannon. Snuffy, as we call him, is no were-mammoth, and I find it highly offensive that such racism exists on this forum.

It definitely deserves an "A" for effort.

Urist McKid: "Mommy... Can you look for monsters in the cabinet?"
Urist McMom: "Don't worry, sweety. There aren't monsters in our fortress! Well, maybe there are weremammoths, but they're stealth and we couldn't protect you from them anyway. Now, have good dreams!"

Likes weremammoths for it's awesomeness. Also, got a trumpet that menaces with spikes of sheep wool.

Actually, no... when they transform to beast-shape, they gain the "trap immune" ability, so they stop activating the pressure plate.  When they go back to humanoid-shape, they regain the ability to activate a pressure plate.

Next thing Urist McKid knows, his face will meet a nice, silver war hammer from the Weremammoth.

Huh, if you can have stealth Weremammoths, what's to say you can't have stealth Were-anything?
