So, I get my second set of merchants from the mountainhomes. Suddenly, they start dying for no reason. They just start "being found dead". First, I thought bug.

Then:

Holy carp this almost beats skeletel boatmurderphants.
Get it to bite your dwarves. Make them hunters to gain ambushing. Die horribly when full moon comes.

Wait, do werebeasts normally equip like that? The stealth is bad enough, but that steel war hammer...

Maybe it was one of the merchant guards, and just happened to hang onto the war hammer they already had in their hand?

I know I've seen some weird equipping mechanics when using a were-whatever Adventurer, where they continue to have their items on them without actually having them equipped.

Weremammoth seem like they would actually be useful, the only were creatures I get are things like rabbits.

I want you guys to understand that I never got any notification that this creature had entered the map. It killed an entire caravan without being spotted and then apparently disappeared without a trace.

There could be more, right now, anywhere and everywhere, stomping silently about and swinging enormous mammoth-sized warhammers with deadly quiet.

So, can you cage-trap were creatures? Because I've never had to deal with this level of lycanthropic fun before.

Well, for me the mighty were-badger is still the most dreadful of all creatures, but those Were-mammoths have developed some interesting strategies indeed. I think they rely on the "hey guy, there is a were-mammoth wielding a warhammer right behind you !" kind of jokes to remain unseen during their rampages. Nobody can seriously expect to have a were-mammoth wielding a warhammer right behind him.

BTW, no notifications when a stealth creature enters the map, even if it's a stealth mammoth.

Mwahahahahah, dwarves failed their spot checks.

But incidentally, all weapons in the game are standard sized. A warhammer wielded by a weremammoth is perfectly usable by a dwarf. This note is just to make sure you get the mental imagery right. The weremammoth tip-toes up behind the dwarf and bops it on the head with a teeny-tiny warhammer.

According to the wiki werebeasts in their beast form are trapvoid creatures, but I don't know if this was verified for .40.

I think this makes weres more interesting. Every time I get a were it would revert before having a chance to really do anything.

Now you know why Snuffleuffagus is skulking around in that back alley...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Has anyone TRULY figured out WHERE he lives on sesame street?

Maybe he reverts into a homeless guy, and nobody is the wiser!  (this IS new york we are talking about!)
His appearances on the show are few and far between as well-- Almost like it was on every full moon....
