First, fully integrate the semi assimilated matter, then try to nick a part of tge wall.

((Yes, you can move all of the crystals, but not assimilated matter. Not individually though, its more an all or nothing thing currently. The matter will stay in place if you move, and if they aren't connected they won't degrade.))

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Let's assimilate a small vein going to the surface to see if it might be something on the surface. s

((Not if its not connected. We don't have a way to transmit power though other materials yet, just into them. Although i suppose if you put enough energy into one spot it might explode, and explosions technically transmit things if you want pressure waves and stuff.))

Gentlemen, if we don't assimilate all the matter, it will eventually disappear. We can't create matter, so we should never let matter disappear.

You'd also lose the vision associated with the matter. (though that would simplify merging the two images later, hehe.)
Also do remember that, assuming you have the spare energy stored to cover the damage, you do not have to immediately finish assimilating it.

Cycle 4
Energy: 4,600

A quick trip upwards reveals the storm still in progress, as the return of the thunderous noise makes rather clear. Also a swarm of some sort of mobile tiny things tried to pull your scouting end out of the ground, failed, and moved away across the ground. In the direction of the wall however, you see a flat surface sticking out of the ground. Thats about all you can see in that direction, as its a fairly tall obstruction. So you move on to finishing what you started, and align the assimilated matter with the general structure of a Low Quality crystal.

Cycle 5
Energy:4,830

With that taken care of, you dump 500 energy into the new substance to see the reaction. It heats up very quickly, but also cools back down about as fast with no apparent effect on it. More energy is required, it seems.

Scouting to the left reveals a large hole and not much else.

I have a nice idea to boost our energy generation into the stratosphere.

Medium assimilation matter degenerates, after ten turns, into low assimilation matter. This matter can then be converted to LQ crystals, which can then be upgraded to Refined Crystals.

Spoiler: Energy per unit (click to show/hide)

I thus propose partially assimilating as much Medium material as we can.

The conversion would be 100, actually, but its still an interesting idea. (50 as the remainder to LQ and the 50 for being 5-cycles-left Low-Assimilation matter. The conversion would be 200 (50 for LQ remainder and 50*3 for being 2-turns-left Low-As.) if you wanted to wait until the matter was down to LQ crystal level of generation, assuming I didn't skip a number somewhere)

No kill like overkill.
Pour two-thousand energy into the wall.
