Inspired by Harry Baldman's "History: the Minimalist RTD".

Rather than another overambitious TCM game that ends in 10 pages, I've decided to start a game with a simple set-up and premise, with the goal of it evolving over time.

The game starts out in New Jamestown, a settlement of 80 or so newcomers out in the arid desert land of Western United Vespuccian Territory. In addition to regular housing, the town is currently equipped with a Saloon, a City Hall, a General Store and a Church; plans for a Tailor Shop and a Brothel are in development. The land beyond that is left unknown by most, from the mysterious caverns to the legends of strange beasts and establishments further out. United Vespuccian civilization has not touched this new land, but it is occupied by the Hontato tribes who have lived there for countless generations. Further to the South is the land of Cudraldo, who previously owned the land prior to the Vespuccian-Cudraldian War, in which they handed it over to to the other nation. Despite this exchange occurring over 50 years prior, some Cudraldos, especially older ones, are still bitter. Vespuccians are the primary immigrants to New Jamestown, as they hear of the freedom and wonder that awaits out west. Additionally, some Cudraldos have come to escape viscous civil war back in their homeland, and people from across the sea have come looking for similar opportunity.

All rolls are handled by a 10-sided Die. All the countries in this game are "fake" renditions of real countries, as it allows the history to be flexible, ex., Chinese (or in this game, "Quian") immigrants to the Western Territory will be much higher than it was in reality. The tone of this game will meander the line between serious and goofy; no spaceships or dragons, but death cults, eccentric businessmen, paranoid cowboys and all sorts of other weirdos and strange stuff will be surely come up (especially knowing you guys).

Most importantly, as a Free-form game, the goal of you as a player is to be whomever you want, and do whatever you want. A failed banker coming to the West to start over? A bandit looking to take advantage of the West's lawlessness? A native seeking to drive out the immigrants as they push into your land? These are just examples of characters you can create. Go nuts, we're here to build stories and legends and have a fun time doing so.
As for your inventory, you can really start with whatever you want within reason. Rich characters are allowed to start with a lofty supply of green, but they wouldn't be loaded with guns, besides a fancy pistol or something. If your character holds an odd-possession, like a policeman with a sword, I'd like a brief explanation in the Biography section of your Character Sheet.

If you die, submit another sheet and jump right back in! Everyone is welcomed, a Reserve will not go into effect unless we have something like +15 players at a time.

UPDATE: The game has now reached the point of exceeding 15 Players. Any newcomers are free to sign-up and be placed into the Reserve, where they can join the game at the first opportunity when another character dies or otherwise is permanently gone.

She is a robber, and not the subtle sort who would resort to something like pickpocketing. It is for blowing up vaults and heavy doors, but she might also be the sort to use it for more general mayhem for the lulz. We can say she picked it up off a seedy black market type merchant at whichever port she entered the country through.

Makes sense, just wanted to know. Dynamite isn't the hardest thing to acquire.

Name: The Heartbreak Kid (No wait, Shawn Michaels already took that one) 'Michael Shawns'
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Perk(s): Handgun Specialist, Casanova
Detriment: Elephant Step
Brief Bio: 'Michael' came here to make his living as a gunslinger. Whether you needed someone to protect your cattle on a long drive or you needed someone shot with no questions asked, he was the man to see. He often challenges his targets to duels first, so that the Law won't get involved as often.  Rumor has it he may or may not have also been fleeing a girlfriend who caught him cheating. He has no comment on the subject. Some also say that 'Michael Shawns' is a fake name he took when he moved here. Those people end up buried in the desert with a bullet in their head.

First Action: Get a drink at the saloon.

First Action:  Roll into town and look for work.

The Shaow walks his way into New Jamestown. His face hidden under concealing wear, he looks around for any sources of employment. [6] He discovers that there are multiple sources seeking employees: The saloon is looking for an extra hand to help bartending and cleaning. The general store is seeking someone to help transport goods between the store and Ciero, a border town to the East. Both the Tailor Shop and Brothel are requesting manual labor to help construct both stores. None are his usual type of job, but that's what's available here.

First Action: Head to the saloon for some whiskey

Greg Whiskey stumbles into town. He shambles up the steps of the Saloon, sitting down at the bar, and calling the bartender over. "Hey barkeep! Glass of whiskey!" As the bartender pours out his drink, Greg fishes around in his pocket to see how much money he's got on him. [9] Lucky for him, it looks like he's got enough on him to get him through his drinks for the next couple days at least. He puts down a coin and chugs down his glass. [1] In his rush to get a stiff one down, Greg fails to notice a chip of wood that had fallen into his glass. He drops his glass, grasping his throat. [8] He heaves, managing to forcefully eject the foreign object onto the floor. He isn't choking anymore, but he feels sick, and his drink is gone. The bartender looks down at him, "You sure you can handle this stuff?"

First action: Solicit for work around town.

Stamping Feet is another newcomer looking for a job as well. [5] He discovers the same options as The Shadow. However, he gets the impression by the looks focused on him that he won't get paid nearly as much as any white folk in his position, and that he'll be an easily replaceable employee. That's the reality for any Natives brave and adventurous enough to intermingle with the invaders.

First Action: Head to the Saloon. Flirt with and buy drinks for some of the rowdier patrons in hopes of provoking a nice entertaining fight.

It's not everyday New Jamestown sees a voluptuous Asian woman strapped with a Double-Barreled Shotgun, but today would prove to be an exception. With a devilish grin, Blood Opal walks into the Saloon. She sits at the bar, then asks the bartender to please, "Get those thirsty gentlemen at the gambling table your finest ale, would you dear? ." After luxurious flashing a few dollars, the bartender obliges. After the alcohol is delivered, Opal swivels in her seat to observe them. [9] Surely enough, a few rough, drunken words later, one ruffian jabs another in the eye, provoking a table-wide brawl. Punches are swung, kicks connect, bottles hit heads and chairs are smashed on backs. The mistress watches with a maleficent, sadistic stare. After a few minutes, the bartender is forced to pull his Shotgun from under his bar and command the men out, which they reluctantly do so. From what she can hear, the brawl continues out in the street.

First action:Check for any common travel routes.

Starn Gundar enters the perimeter of New Jamestown with less than noble intentions. His first order of business is to check the busiest routes in and out of town. [6] He manages to discover the main road, a wide flat trail through the East side of town, that goes directly through it. This path is bound to have travelers and stagecoaches, but is exposed and visible. There is a smaller dirt trail to the South which holds much less traffic, but is also more concealed. Starn checks over his shoulder every few minutes, to make sure some cop doesn't run up and shoot him straight through the back.

First Action: start building the brothel

The young Tuypo decides that the first thing any decent settlement needs to have is an establishment for whoring. Bringing with him some raw materials, the entrepreneur decides to call for some workers. [8] He fetches four young, able-bodied men to begin construction. With their progress, the Brothel will only be <2 Turns> away from completion. Tuypo quickly checks himself for cash to pay the workers, [9] and finds enough to both reward them properly, but additionally a little extra that he can use for whatever purposes he wishes for.

First Action: Get a drink at the saloon.

Micheal Shawns's first order of business is to fetch himself a drink. His wallet contains [7] enough to get him by for the day. In the Saloon, he drinks a beer while watching some drunk next to him nearly choke to death, and a fight break out from some burly boys at one of the tables. Maybe this New Jamestown place ain't as boring as some folks make it out to be.
