Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Becoming attached to and pointlessly obsessing over something with no value or significant use seems fairly dorfy to me.
Gonna have to go with microcline, even though there's probably better choices.

It'd win for sure if it were inexplicably fatal to obtain.

It's obviously puddingstone. It's ugly, annoying, and has a misleading name.

In 0.34, bituminous coal. In the version of clear cutting old growth forests to make charcoal, I'm leaning towards hematite.

Let's take a moment to realize that with historical figures in armies, we can show enemy soldiers the dead bodies of their family members who were in the last wave.

And they will cry about it.

Microcline is and always has been the Rightful King of Stones.

Petrified wood.
One of my dwarves made a really badass petrified wood throne.

@insanityincarnate:

you think 'felsite' is the dorfiest stone because the word contains 'Fels'? :-)

if so, you probably have to explain to the non german speakers.

.... or i just do it shortly: 'Fels' is german for 'rock', so 'felsite' means something like 'rockite'!
I mean how much more dorf (means badass slash stupid) can it get?  :D

In terms of complete and utter worthlessness: You have struck microcline! x784 The damn stuff's everywhere...

Really? In my Dwarf Fortressing microcline is almost always a rare occurrence. Which is sad, 'cos I like the color.
Microcline is my favourite rock for looking cool.
