Though he rarely speaks, Karath decides to attempt to initiate a conversation, and break the fairly awkward silence that's descended on the party.

We should introduce ourselves. Name's Karath. More a hunter, but I'll serve as a ranger. Probably be charging into battle a lot. Never been good with a bow. Prefer axes and swords.

Gaun glances around, slightly nervous, not least because of the pair of masked faces among her apparent companions-to-be.

"I am called Gaun. Not fighter. Obviously."

"Well! A good day to the both of you, Karath and Guan. I was named Gerbo Nackle by my father and mother, Stumbleduck and Filchbatter by my uncle and mentor. I'd recite the others, but your lifespans probably aren't long enough. Ehehehexcept for the elf, of course."

A young elf girl is calmly sitting in the corner. Of course in human years, she's old as hell. But in elf years, she would probably be considered a child. There appears to be a very small pink crystal on her shoulder, standing on eight tiny legs of a strange cyan material.. seems to be ectoplasm.

 "Maybe you should, uh, I dunno', go make some friends? Might as well get to know some people before you go beast hunting," a feminine voice emanates from the crystal. The small elf girl sighs.
 "Most of these people are grown-ups, Shandra. Besides, mother said not to talk to strangers."
 "Talking with strangers may be required for this assignment."

Karath seems deeply confused.

"Elf-girl, who do you speak to?"

The elf girl glances at Karath.
 "O-Oh, well, this is Shandra!"
The little pink psicrystal climbs down Quim's arm.
 "Hello."

Greetings, Shandra. If it isn't rude to ask, I'm unfamiliar with elven etiquette, what are you?

Also, forgot to mention that Karath, throughout this, has been stumbling slightly over words, as if unfamiliar with Common.

 "Yes, I believe so."
The elf girl grins and gives a peace sign.
 "I'm Quim! Quim Whitmire!" she says - it's a sight to behold, seeing someone so happy and upbeat even in these grim times.
