Was that relevant to anything or just nonspecific bitching about complaining?

The second one. People seem to be talking past each other a lot in this thread.

Not in the last few pages I've seen. Although it might not be a bad idea to have that second chart in the OP of threads like these.

EDIT: I also find the wording of the flowchart hilarious.

But... isn't posting passive-aggressive THIS IS HOW YOU ARGUE images at "everyone" a great way to talk past everyone else at once?

I find it condescending and arrogant. Phrasing it as "we" rather than "you" and "I" might have made it seem more like a proposed rubric for rational conversation and less like an elaborate douchebag tirade on what the reader must do to earn the esteemed privilege of talking with the poster on their terms.

Can't argue with efficiency, or so all my management textbooks (why do I have these) tell me. So I'm forced to endorse the idea.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

So yeah, the nypd is going to specifically set up their crowd control people with machine guns, long rifles, and mraps.

Because when everyone is angry about how you do policing now, it's time to double down on your practices and arm your officers with heavy weaponry.

Gotta love this quote:

“It will be equipped with all the extra heavy protective gear, with the long rifles and the machine guns that are unfortunately sometimes necessary in these instances.”

Neccesary against protestors how? If there is an incident one of those machine guns are fired, even when it's the result of a rookie losing their cool, it'll be a massive you-know-what.

Yeah, while the NYPD are obviously trained not to lose their cool, all it takes is exactly ONE incident of firing into or at a crowd. I don't mean the usual police handguns, I mean those military rifles and long range rifles.

Actually, I'm surprised such an incident with the machineguns and stuff hasn't happened already somewhere.

machineguns? what kind of police level threat requires machineguns to deal with? terrorists don't come in armies swarming fortifications in new york, that is sure.
And using them as crowd control is a cruelty worthy of civil war. Since once used they are going to cause lots of deaths.

Edit:  Pepperspray for reasons!

rubber bullets on a machinegun on a civilian crowd is like diet coke taken with an extraordinarily heavy fast food meal.
Enough to say that you are trying, but it is blatantly obvious that it is not going to do much difference.

But maybe they can then claim that the deaths are due to trampling occurred after the shooting? not their fault, if crowds panic after being shot with heavy weapons.

Still, I'd like to think that machineguns are a misguided attempt at fighting terrorism. They are not a suitable weapon for that, but it is still miles better than crowd control.

Isn't it implied that they will be carrying those around for them crowd control situations?  Not sure if better.
