Things to do in adventure mode?

Fun things. Funny things. Random things. Challenges. I don't know. What are some things to do in adventure mode?

Slay monsters and megabeasts in their lairs.

Go to a Dark Fortress to liberate goblin captives and possibly even slay their demonic master. Or find a hidden vault to claim the prize within, which is related to the demons which control the goblins.

Get involved in some violent politics between different civilizations, and even become a lord/lady of your own territory. Or take up banditry.

Become a necromancer, a vampire, or a were-beast. Possibly even become a dreaded husk. Though pulping has made husks a bit easier to kill.

Attempt to rob large tombs dedicated to monarchs and generals of old.

Explore the caverns. Though there is a bit less to accomplish down there, now that a certain feature has been removed.

Trek to the top of volcanoes and mountains.

Or just make a badass and retire them in a dwarven site so that when you start a fort your adventurer has a chance to migrate in.

Become a necromancer were-beast, raise your own army.

IDK how to reliably get your arms severed in adventure mode, though. Retire a fort with lots of serrated disks? Will a high enough observer allow you to tell what specific attack (e.g., "slash") an opponent is using once you've gotten too observant to fall for traps?

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

A wizard has turned you into a wagon. This was inevitable (Y/y)?

I think so, actually. I've seen it warn me of what they were attacking me with, where they were attacking, and even attack modifiers such as wild or precise.

See what mysteries the bottom level holds outside your embark.  And _try_ to find a way not to be killed on the first encounter.

Beat down and recruit every foe you see. then take your batten down companions and stick them in a keep(by asking them to wait).
see how many you can wrangle up until you either die or found one who willingly want to be a hearthsperson.
then go move into another town and start there asking random guys to join you and slowly building up a small army until you get a hearthsperson.
So far 10 seems to be lil painful in the passive route but it's doable.

Make a claim for a site, intimidate the old leader into giving it to you, make someone a hearthperson, give the hearthperson ownership of the site, make a claim for the site again, then solve that in whatever way you want.

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.

Survive for a month on a diet consisting solely of artichoke hearts. Eat berries straight from the sack. Jump across a river, and break both your legs. Sleep your injuries off. Rush to help a citizen in distress, and flee from an angry mob when everyone decides they are your enemies. Hang from the branches of a tree like a ripe fruit. Watch your eyes weep for no apparent reason. Listen to the autistic chatter in towns. Observe a couple of cheerful travelers discussing recent weather while they cordially chop each other's limbs off. Visit a forest and watch birds falling to their death after knocking themselves out when hitting a random tree. Cut an unsuspecting villager in half by throwing an oak leaf at him. Pray to gods and listen to the silence of their responses. Get killed by a bogeyman. And again. And again...

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

Crush your enemies(and/or friends), see them driven before you, and hear the inevitability of their women.

Kill every sapient being in the world and then settle dozens of outsider adventurers in the ruins so history can begin anew.

Is this possible? Can you settle in ruins? I have a world where the only surviving creatures are 200 or so assorted megabeasts, titans and night trolls so I'd very much like to try it.

Not sure about world gen ruins but it's possible to kill everyone at a site and still be able to retire there.
