He's technically in the battle so he gets experience anyways. More than you in fact because he's... fresh I guess? He can still learn new information about fighting from watching it in action.

That's my point.

2 probably level five or six enemies, each with CR of 6 or 7 in all likelihood, and Ganron's level one. This one encounter will shoot him up to level 3 as a full-fledged Character class, if he survives, in all likelihood, if I remember how we did the system.

I will also get shot up by about 3/5 of a level. So that's nice.

Also, in case it wasn't obvious(And apologies to everyone else for whom this is probably stupendously boring), this is great fun for me.

I made a duelist character. He's dueling a dude, complete with witty banter(he's still an arrogant prick, though, as evidenced by his 8 Charisma, he's just a clever arrogant prick).

If I was a bard, I'd take a feat to boost my attacks every time I made a witty comeback, and a feat that debilitated my enemies with every terrible pun I made(max of once per round, lasting one round, of course).

I'm going to assume you meant North-west.

It's also important to note that since you have the Duelist feat you have a constant +2 dodge bonus against everyone. You basically upgraded Dodge to gain it so... You can't do the +1 to AC thing.

...Dodge bonuses stack, Nerjin. They're one of the few AC bonuses that do.

Erch.

That's a lot of bonuses...is it a magic sword or something? Where's that other +3 damage coming from...hnnnnnrrrg

18 or 19 Strength...+5 Attack bonus...Fighting Challenge...

I'm hoping there's a way I can win this via puzzle or taunts or something, because I'm not actually sure if I have stats advantage. Especially since he rolled a one.

Just need a crit...

Oh I see you put both dice separately.

Well, shit. I roll half the damage dice he does, with a smaller damage bonus.

I really do need that crit.

Steely Strike should be useful for that, since the bonus to hit should apply to the crit confirm too, as will Emerald Razor, since it's a touch attack. Actually, when I think about it, Shadow Blade Technique will probably be best for that, but I don't know if they'll call it magic or not. And, of course, if I can last that long. I have better AC than him, and better Attack bonus, and have my maneuvers, but...he probably has quite a lot more hit points, and deals more damage with each blow.

And then fight Paul, to boot.

I beseech thee, oh great Critzocoatl, grant me aid in my time of need. I have sacrificed fourscore dice and more to your holy grace, and have been a loyal servant of thee in all my days. In this dark hour, grant me the aid I seek, I beg of thee.

As a knight he would tend to. Theoretically he put you into the negatives with a crit. I'd avoid that if you could. No one wants to see Borus get a big head over this stuff.

Is there a reason I only moved five feet, rather than 19 or so?

It doesn't matter at this point, just asking though.

I hate when combat consists of sitting there and smashing each other, since that's never how actual fights go; I like it much better when they're mobile, and this fits Dereth's style anyway.

Oh, and just in case since it'd be easy for you to forget; Battle Ardor gives me another +2 on Crit confirmation rolls.

Also, Emerald Razor is an auto-hit unless I roll a one(he has 20 AC). Which of course means that that's exactly what will happen, in all likelihood.

Probably should have gone with Punishing Stance from the start; puts us on even ground for both AC and Damage, but I have the advantage in attack rolls, and he has the advantage in hit points. Which means, as usual...it's up to the dice.

Standing jump attempts double the difficulty. YOu rolled 19. Standing 10' jump has a DC of 20. I let you go as far as you can.

Don't worry, I'm checking this stuff as it goes. I own the book after all.

Ah, I forgot about needing Leaping Dragon Stance to always count as having a running start.

Dude. Just thought of a homebrew feat now. At least the rough bits of it. Remind me to refine it later.

Strike and retreat
Prereqs: ??
Effect: Once per turn if your movement takes an enemy out of your threatened range, as if they had moved, you may make an attack of opportunity against them; this uses your attack of opportunity for the round.
Special: If you have more than one attack of opportunity per round, you may still only make one on your own turn.

That would be interesting if it wasn't broken. :P

Basically doubles the number of attacks you get per round at the 'expense' of losing an AoO.
