Reassembly: 2D Shape based space ship combat simulator
« on: September 06, 2014, 02:33:43 pm »

I thought I'd bring attention to this game that showed up in my video watching. It seems to be a very relaxed game that lets you build your ship out of basic shapes and then lets you pilot it in combat. It has very nice particle effects and atmosphere already in its current stage.

The game is now out on early access for steam, if you havn't gotten it through the kickstarter campaign, now is your chance to try out the beta for yourself.

This looks pretty super interesting.  A bit like Gimbal, but with a more Geometry Wars feel.  I look forward to seeing more of this, and welcome our eventual 'dwarf face with laser eyes' custom built overlords.

First kickstarter I've considered backing in a long time.
Really, the exact same thing I said to myself.

Can't believe I missed them at pax.  Actually I can, the expo hall is so not my thing.

The game has awesome Warning Forever vibe.  A large persistent game with a map in the vein of Warning or Battleships Forever would be awesome.

I'd actually see it more along the lines of one of the captain forever games, heh.

But yeah, looks kinda' awesome. Almost certainly won't be backing it, but picking it up a year or two after release during a sale? Hell yeah.

Holy shit, this looks amazing.

First kickstarter I ever backed, this looks too great.

As you can see most of these are not included at release. We did this because we don't want to continually increase the scope of the game and never deliver. We know what we want to have at release this coming February, and most of these stretch goals are free expansions that will be added after everyone is already enjoying the finished game.

now this is a nice space game you have found, i was able to get a copy of the alpha, althought i dont think it works in 32 bit (goddammit), looks like i will have to try it in the other PC, hope i dont get any problem with it. the game looks nice, both by the mechanics, the music, the graphical design (vector graphics > textures)...

Fuck, I just swore off video game Kickstarters but these guys look like they might actually be disciplined enough to create a finished product.

Also I'm pretty sure I've played a flash game that was really similar to this, though not as deep. edit: oh, it was Captain Forever. I guess I'm late to that realization.

I'm reminded somewhat of Captain Forever by this.

Not in a bad way.

I went ahead and backed $9 for early price.  I'm a big spender.  Debated $30 for beta access, but realized I'm broke and patient.

I dunno if it's new, but one thing that had always made me wary of Kickstarter was the payment style.  Turns out they only charge you at the end of the deadline, and only if it succeeded.  So in October, I'll be charged $9.

Kickstarter has always had the 'Only at the end + if it's fully funded' payment style to my knowledge.

Some of the other kickstarter-likes have an option to do partial funding drives where they just take what they can get, but afaik kickstarter itself is just always full funding all the time.
