New Seasonal Crops Mod

New Seasonal Crops is an attempt to add some realism, and challenge to DF farming.  It attempts to restrict the massive flood of food that is possible by default and encourages you to diversify your planting habits.
It is based off of and influenced by this  0.34.11 mod by RavingManiac.

Mod on DFFD

The mod features two versions:

- -My personal mod, which I am using and will occasionally update
-varied growth times
-seed values increased
-perhaps extra stuffs

- -A more generic, cut and paste version, where growth is standardized:
-Growdur 2016 (2 seasons) for almost all plants
-Above ground plants grow from spring to autumn
-Below ground plants adhere as closely as possible to the 34.11 version


---INSTALLATION

Back up and then delete the old plant raw files in question, as of this version:
-plant_crops.txt
-plant_garden.txt
-plant_standard.txt

 and add the files you wish to use, alternative for the cut and paste version
  and original for my customized version

- - To uninstall, remove the same files and restore your back up.

Keep in mind that currently, you can't plant seeds in winter and harvest them in spring - if the crop won't be mature by the time the year rolls over, you can't plant. So year-round plantables with long growing seasons - or, from a simulationist perspective, winter wheat - won't be doable atm.

Thats saddening.  Ill test it.
Plump helmets were set to grow for two seasons, and Ill plant them in the winter.  I havent actually played a fort in the new version yet.

Why can tI assign proficient axeman to militia commander?

Okay, a basic rundown:

-All crops have a valid period of growth, with enough time to harvest them.

-More expensive seeds.  The most expensive seeds are 5 dwarfbucks a unit.

-I'll also release a dry cntrl+h version, where all old plants respect the 34.11 grwodurs and the new above ground ones will be sring-fall, 2 season growdur.

-Its highly recommended that you only plant the seeds in the first season available, preferring the first season off the fallow, although

-One of the concepts I tried to integrate is a 'grace period I.e. some seeds take 1.7 seasons to grow, so with enough micromanagement you could sqeeze 2 harvest a year.  Other crops have more or less leeway.

-this can be updated as required.
